  1. Yes! See this thread: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=14147
  2. Hi Rich, Nope, brand new recording which I was attempting to upload for the first time. I have also just made a load of test recordings, (mics > Batt box > line-in) and none of them will transfer either. They appear in the transfer window OK, and can be played in SonicStage, but click the transfer button and the window just refreshes. Not even an error message. Incidentally, I uninstalled 3.4, re-installed 3.3, and had exactly the same problem. In the end I actually had to do a system restore to roll-back before 3.4 was ever installed. My recording then transferred in SS3.3 just as they have always done. Gary
  3. I am getting exactly the same problem. Live concert recordings I have made via Line-In using PCM sound will not transfer. As you say SS3.4 just refreshes itself. Have uninstalled, re-installed etc but the problem remains. Rolling back to SS 3.3 and they will upload OK (but of course have that stupid 'only once' upload restriction on them.
  4. I've checked and double-checked the manual, and spent the last half hour searching through this forum, but can't find the answer to this question: Anyone know how many times the Mz-NH1's Li-ion battery can be recharged before it dies? I know that for Ni-Mh gumsticks it's approx 300, but I presume (hope) that the Li-ion is many more. Thanks.
  5. Presumably because a Graphic EQ also acts as a volume control, and pushing all the sliders to the max would be too much for our delicate European ears. The theory about it being a France restriction is probably correct, though. At concert venues in Paris they have volume restrictors, so that power cuts off if it's too loud!
  6. I have RH10, and I too could not see 'DistFL' under 0113. However, I changed the last 2 digits of the sequence to 24 (whilst all the other digits were constantly changing), and exited the hack as per instructions. I now have the full Equaliser selection (yes!), BUT I can hear no appreciable difference in volume when playing back, ie I still need the volume at 90%+. Is it possible that only part of the hack has worked? Is there any way of actually confirming that output is now 5mw? And, final question, is there any reason why 'DistFL' did not appear anywhere on my machine? Sorry for idiot questions, but 'hex numbers' means absolutely nothing to me! And, by the way, thanks for the time and effort taken in working out this hack - it is much appreciated by us Europeans.
  7. If you've got a battery box, you must use the Line-in (with manual levels, of course) : less hiss, wider dynamic range, better all round sound. If you use the mic-in you may as well not bother with the batt box. You'll also find you'll need higher manual levels - at least 20/30. I stood right in front of the PA at a Mars Volta concert with levels at 20 and could have gone higher. I've been testing the RH10 for recording live music and have to say I'm not very impressed with it. Even with levels set very high, the resultant wav is very quiet, and though it's easy enough to boost volume in a sound editor it all adds to the hiss. The USB transfer has also chewed a few files, and once they've been uploaded you've had it. Good old Sony won't let you upload a second time, as the disc itself becomes 'protected' (so no use trying to upload it onto a different PC, either). Gary.
  8. Sorry guys, not a very good start for my first post..... My mistake, I got the RH10 from www.ogormans.co.uk/minidisc.htm (got confused between the two, because I was going to order from cheapelectricals). Anyway, I can thoroughly recommend ogormans - very helpful on the phone, RH10 arrived the next day (first in the UK as far as I'm aware).
  9. Bought my RH10 from www.cheapelectricals.co.uk over a week ago. Next day delivery, no problems at all. In fact the only thing I'm a bit hacked off with is that they have already dropped the price by £7!.
