Hi VillagerN, I too got my NH900 from Argos but without the problem you (and Volta) described. I have taken loads of stuff back Argos before and they are really good. if you don't find the reciept then if you have the box etc and it still has there stock label on it they usually except that as proof of purchase in my experience. Happy listening/recording! I love my MD!

Well thank you Volta, your glowing praise meant I didn't bow to pressure and get the NH1 and I am well chuffed with my buy! I think sony should employ you has an ambassador for the NH900! Now I just have to get to grips with the hundred and one functions on the thing! Cheers all!

Hope you are happy with it Andy. Finally got my NH900 yesterday (my first choice shop sold out 2 weeks ago when I planned to get it. Lucky though cause the new shop (argos) was doing them for £99 so saved a bit of dosh!) I have to say I am well happy! The player is great, the sound fantastic (ATRAC3+) even sonicstage works on my old PC (no doubt the wheels will come off at some point though!) thanks to you all for the help and advice over the last few weeks.

Hi All, For all of you UK based people the NH900 is on sale at Argos (www.argos.co.uk) for just £99. This is a limited deal though so don't delay! Cheers all!

Big Brother, You Decide.... Well I plan to get the NH900 this weekend (pay day on Friday!) . The 2 things that swing it for me 1) The rechargable battery in the NH900 is openly available, the NH1 is only available thru Sony I believe 2) You can add on the dry cell case to the 900 giving you more battery life (I don't travel lots but when I do I like to travel light so no charger).

Tres Bon! I had seen a few posts alluding to this. I presume simple burner is more friendly with us old school win98 users then? Thanks all! T -11 days to NH900 day then!

I'm in work at the moment so stuck with version 4. I have version 6 at home and it still didn't like the first lot of links. Maybe I'll try Kurisu's link from there and see what happens. Cheers.

Thank for the link Kurisu, but still no joy. If I 'save as' it tells me it can't decrypt it once it has downloaded and I get a blank screen if I click directly on the link? Any ideas? (I'm running Acrobat V4.0 as suggested on that site too?)

Hi Team, I am trying to download the HiMD manual for the MZ-NH900 but the sony website tells me they have a server issue at present and when I try and 'save as' I just get an error message come up in Acrobat. The link on the forum also doesn't work? Does anyone have a copy they can point me towards? Cheers,

I enquired a couple of months back to Dixons/Currys why they didn't have any MD/HiMD players. They said it was an 'outdated format' and was being replaced by 'things like MP3 players and iPods'..... emm not sure I agree with that!(interesting that there websites though still lists info on Minidisc players and HiMD so I think they will make a come back into stores). I went in to the sony shop around the corner to ask if there were plans to discontinue MD/HiMD and they said and I quote 'not bloody likely!' He said the new ones (HiMD) were selling really well, especially since the price drop and that the newer versions with the camera etc were already causing interest (in the UK). He also made a very good point that it is unlikely MD will ever be phased out because of the record/edit facilities. Most media bods i.e. radio stations, jounalists etc use MD to record their live interviews etc and they would be up in arms if MD was withdrawn. About 12 years ago, my then Technology teacher told me about this new fangled thing that was coming out called minidisc and he refused to buy a CD player as this was going to be the future and would eventually destroy the evil CD and rule the universe. He also drank heavily so don't believe all the hype!

Sounds cool to me. Thanks again Dex

Thanks A440 & Dex I'll give it a go. Like you say I can always uninstall. Am I right in thinking the MD will come with Sonic stage 2.0 and then I download 3.1?

Excellent! Mindisc here I come! Thanks KrazyIvan!

Hi All, I am just about to jump into the MD (Hi MD) world and can't wait! I have a question though. Due to the fact I have a PC with Win98 (SE) but it is not manufacturer installed I am worried about not being able to use Sonic Stage (some might say that is a bonus?). I do have a optical out on my hi fi though so I believe I can record directly, albeit in realtime? If this is true, can I compress what I record to fit more than 1 CD onto a minidisc? or is this only possible using Sonic Stage? Many thanks in advance guys and gals. Brad

Hi. I imagine this has been asked a thousand times before but.... Does Hi MD support AAC format? If not, is there software available that will convert it to a useful format? many thanks in advance!
