Hi, how about the display quality on the 9xx-series? I've just bought a A818 and the display quality outdoors is realy BAD!! What's up with Sony, don't they think about their products till end anymore? I've got an old Vaio pocket which has a transflective TFT and you can perfectly read it in all light conditions, even in bright sunlight!! The iPod is readable, too in sunlight and a Sony not? Shame on you. So, any experience with the 9xx-series quality? Thanks

So my wishlist for a new Sony-Walkman: - 32GB flash - reflective display (like the one on the vaio pocket) for easy reading even under sunlight! - physical bigger than the current A8xx-series as they are a little bit too thin for my fingers - the same good physical controls like A8xx or high quality as on the very old NW-E3 (do you remeber that alu thingy? Great!) - Drag&Drop with MP3, AAC ... - Customization options (screensavers, themes, fontsizes ...) - timer function - alarm function (like on vaio pocket) - interchangeble batttery - high sound quality (minimum like nw-s7xx-series or vaio pocket!) - line-out-option for audio in menu - fast menu and system response (like on the current A8xx and S7xx) - perhaps a remote control like on minidisc walkman - those little jingles, beeps and menuanimation toys that we love the japanese for - USB 2.0 Highspeed! I know I'm dreaming but perhaps we have very very very much luck :-)

Hi, why do they stop on 16GB? I hope for a 32GB Version! I would buy it even for 400 Euros! My vaio pocket is dead (it felt down to the floor) and as a replacement I bought an A818 yesterday: Sweet sounding device which make me smile :-) And come on guys: A native touch screen base player is simply crap! You can't operate them blind in your pockets as you can do with Sonys Minidisc-remotecontrols, vaio pockets remote, S7xx or A8xx. Physical buttons etc. are necessary!!

I have the opinion that there IS demand for a good mp3/multimediasystem with 24 or 32GB flashmemory! See, Creative is launching a 32GB ZEN series device and I would love to see s.th. like this from Sony!

Hi, here in Germany the players price is cut down in stores (this is always an indication of a new one coming) and the sonystyle store germany doesn't list the nw-s7xx-series any more. the nw-s6xx where never available here in Germany. Sure I made a good deal: 149 Euro for the 4GB Version (249 before!)

I'm still using my Vaio pocket. I bought it because I wasn't happy with the sound of the iPod (3rd Generation) and I love this thing. Only downsides: - The Software! Vaio Music Transfer stopped working suddenly, Sonicstage is a piece of crap! Any Alternatives? - Battery drain even if the unit is switched off - max. Volume not very high. Perhaps if SSDs are getting available and cheaper I'm going to upgrade my Vaio pocket with an SSD at 32GB or 40 (if available). Than we got one of the best flash based players on the planet

if you have to turn brightness higher, it does NOT seem to have such a good screen as the vaio pocket?! The vaio pocket features a reflective display which is super easy to read even if the sun shines directly onto it.

Hi, I'm a little bit uncertain if I should upgrade to a NW-S700 or NW-A800 for sports. I like the NW-S700 styling very much but the NW-A800 have a much better display. How well is the display of the NW-A800 readable in direct sunlight? IS it readable or does it fade to black and it is hard to read? I currently have a Vaio pocket and its display is suberp even in direct sunlight!

in my personal opinion it will just be a few weeks because here in Germany we're always the last people to get new Sony products They now have listed the new Vaio UX Series (ultra mobile PC)for preordering in the online shop for 3000 Euros and those machines are available in Japan and the US for a few months now!

Hello, I currently have a Vaio Pocket Walkman from Sony. Is it generaly possible to replace the harddrive by myself if I order a compatible drive or are the drives somehow locked and special formatted? Is the OS in flash-memory or on the HDD? I'm asking because of the upcomming SSDs! Actually expensive but when the 64GB or 32GB solidstatedisk is cheaper it would be great to just replace the HDD of my Vaio Pocket with a SSD. Then I would have a real cool Walkman with high reliability ;-)

Hi, today I saw the Sony CPF-IX001 on my local dealer. Nice little system but I have a few questions: - Can I use Internetradio WITHOUT the PC after configuring it correctly? The manual is not very helpful - Why can I remove the main unit from the speakers, is it operational when removed? If not: Where's the sense? Hopefully anybody knows something about it as the websearch and the manual didn't answer the questions ....

Hi together, I've just checked out a NW-S703 and it looks realy cool, except the shuttleswitch seems to be a kind of cheap... Can I use display screensavers on this baby like on the nw-e405 etc.? Thanks Thomas
