well the 80min md's are cheap. i remember seeing them for a buck or 2 a piece. it's the hi-md's that're steep. i think the thing that keeps me from pouring too much is the ability to find a md player in 3-5 years. if the rh-1 will last, i can continually see myself using it for a long time. i love the way it sounds

my display button is stiff too. i just pick it up and set it to whatever. the remote pretty much does everything for me
-
well, i'm glad this mechanical work of art is being used well i think i like keeping my md player as a player first then a recorder if i ever have time
-
oh my goodness... well. sad to say i don't fit the proper use of a MD then ;P i've only opted to own a MD + an ipod because i like the sound. it sounds livelier for some reason.

i have 5 hi-md's and 10 regular md's and i find myself only using 2 hi-md's & 2 regular md's. and to my suprise, that covers all my everyday music. how much do you guys use?
-
well... i just ordered the rh1. if it lives up to my expectations, i'll put my rh10 up for sale.

the biasness is funny here. anyway i own both. i just like the md sound better than an ipod. i'm not sure if it's because the bass is bloated, but it sounds rounder than an ipod. beat me on the head about accuracy, but yea. as for the size, i really only use 1 out of my 5 hi-md disc. just like i used 500mb of my 4gb nano. two products two purposes two different sounds. thanks for the review. i would have to concur about mechanical beauty. sometimes i wish i majored in ME ~jay

well... what's an MD?

thanks for the info... once i pull my head out of debt thanks to a supermacro purchase, i'll pick a mic up.

i was about to say... " you can listen to classical at such a low bitrate?" eheh

i'm guessing SP-BMC-2 a good newbie mic no? i guess i'll give it a shot. thanks for the tip. is a more sensitive mic going to pick up highs a little better? i heard the recording and it sounded okay.

hi, i'm still new here or hear and i'm trying to learn a little about recording i just purchased an rh10 and i was hoping to do some recordings with it. i'd like to try recording my own guitar playback while learning how to sing in sync ehhe. i'm looking somewhere between 30-70$ mind you that i'm a newbie so closer to 70$ isn't always better. i see stereo... i see binaural... i see that i'm confused with which to buy. i see sensitivity... then i'm thrown back that sensitivity will lead to clipping. but an attenuator may help. hell what're croakies?

i have one of those... i rarely hear the motor noise. i don't have that one per se, but i do have one similar
-
does this mean the 2nd gens aren't backward's compatible in reading?
-
well, i took the plunge... hopefully i'll be just as happy with this unit. i'm quite excited to see how this product works.

i guess not. it's just that i don't know how to mix one channel to two speakers. i have an old sharp md-mt15. and that's how i've known how to record. would i need a new mic with the rh10? or can i use the existing one i have, and push the left channel to both? basically i'm looking for an MD that'll upload my recordings and play to both channels. the md-mt15 can only send real time sound to my computer. i'm looking for something that'll upload a bit faster. i've considered the rh10 'cause there's that software on the main page.

that's very odd... i was hoping to get a mono recorder to save space while getting the usb capabilities. thank you. do you know if the nh1 has mono?
-
is it offered in the mz-rh10? that's what i'm hoping to use it for thanks in advance

it's hard for me to swallow the idea that sony forgot to do a cross test on a simple sample dB test across the frequency board. long time lurker... was thinking about a rh10, but i guess i'm going to have to stick with my mini. damn... i was so hoping to make use of my OLd school MD's
