So Can I install OpenMG module on its own? Aww I'd best forget it, too many software to install for just a couple of tracks.
-
Ok, I don't know what I did, but All I did was to restart my computer and when I started SB, the gracenote registration wondows came up. All is good now. Thank you.

Thanks, Actually that was what I did to import, I dropped my music folder (12 gigs worth) that's when I saw the messages. But all is fine.

Of course! I'm sorry I confused the letters, But I own a MZ-M100 I think it's the second gen but that's just a guess... Is there a category for my md unit? Ok, Thank you, I must've posted my previous message the same time you did yours. Thanks for clarification.

Thank you Dex, What about the MZ models? Are they 3rd gen or also 2nd gen? Is there any significance between the NH models and the MZ models? Cheers Edit: Wow your (RH10) review is very intensive! Good Job!

Hi, The HiMD Units' incapability of drag&dropping of the mp3 files directly raised this question in me: What does the unit do to the mp3 file to make it playable? and Is there "any" change in the data after downloading to the md and uploading it back to the computer? I'm asking this because if the mp3 files are transferred as "bit by bit" exact copies, I'd like to free up some space on my HDD by deleting my whole library. (It's a bit of a too many copies of the same music under one roof: The Cds, the mp3s on the hdd and the mp3s on the MD). I asked this also because there were talks about how not very good at playing mp3 files the hi-md units are. (Is this sentence even readable let alone under understandable?) Thank you in advance for the nice answers.

This was what I was wondering as well, about the mp3 playback quality. Actually there are some topics on the forum on this issue, but I'm too tired to pick them and put them here. (when I searched mp3 in the forum nothing came up although I know it "is" there). Also I'd like to know which models were the 1st gen and which models are the 2nd gen?. Thank you.

Thank you Rich, I had heard about the windows configuration option from some other topics, but that was already greyed out, so I didn't know what to do. Then right after your reply, I wanted to try it again, checking the menu, to my surprise it was "not" greyed out!!! As I was thinking how it could be, I clicked on it and nothing happened. Then I closed the simple burner app and restarted it, and now it's greyed out again. What user name and password should I put in if I ever get to open that menu? The cddb registration worked without a problem in SonicStage, why can't it work in here? Thanks for your interest.

Hi, I had an idea of using my M100 for trying my friends' CDs, I was thinking of putting the setup file of SB to one of the himd discs, so whenever I need to import a CD to my walkman, I can use the SB from any computer. But, I noticed the warning that says SB only works properly if SS installed previously. To what extent is this correct? Is there no way to install SB on its own in order to import? Installing SS and SB (or only SS) to my friend's computer just for the sake of seeing an interesting CD and trying it out doesn't sound appealing to me. Any ideas, answers or comments? Thank you.

I think this sucks! Before I bought my M100 I was thrilled to see it is a native mp3 player as well. I thought it would work just like all the other flash based mp3 players (drag&drop). I wonder what's keeping Sony from that option. I really would hate installing Sonicstage to every computer of my friends' if I ever wanted to try out an mp3 off their library. Now with my m100 I still can, but I cannot listen to the songs until I get back home and import through SS. Do you think with an update in the future or with new models "true" native mp3 playing will be possible?

I can't Simple Burner to work the CDDB either. I don't know what to do. I can't try the winamp option since I don't have it installed yet. I'll try to restart my computer. That's all I can think of. Then I'll reinstall the SB.

CDDB Update Patch: A Solution for Non-Working CDDB in MD Simple Burner
Berke replied to plugged in's topic in Software
I have the same problem, I cannot get CDDB in SB but it works in SS just fine. What to do? -
Hi Ishiyoshi, Excellent work! I love the icons, I was looking for M100 icons, but hey RH10 is just as good. All I needed to do was to rename the files. Thanks

Hi All, I just downloaded and installed SS 3.4, looked fine initially, until I decided to import my music folder that is. Here I received the error message maye 5 or 6 times. Is there any explanation to this? After I clicked OK and continued, everything is alright. But if I were to start importing and leave the room, I would be much frustrated I guess. I think it imported all my music, but I can't be sure if it did all the files. What does it mean?

Thanks, Well, Since Connect Store is not available in my country, I guess I'll stick with the US version. Thanks again.

Hi, I just bought a M100 unit, and I want to install the latest SS for the leastest headaches. I'm using a US M100 but I'm in Europe. I'm wondering what important differences there are between the regional versions. I'm pretty sure it's mainly language issues (both US and EU are english though), or maybe the Connect music store in the software. Any significant matter whether I should download this one or that? Thanks.

Could I ask which particular file in the codec pack caused this trouble? If I have the same problem, I'd like to solve that too, But I'm not sure if I want to uninstall my codec pack.

What does one need to do to avoid SS to manage the music library itself? I just bought a new himd unit and will be using SS, but I wouldn't want it to shuffle my already precious collection. Will it ask me before it does anything funny? Thanks.
-
Hi, sorry to hear about your problems, I'm new here too. What I was thinking that if you tried the new SS (3.4) to see if that solves the problem.
-
It appears there was a problem with the unit. Minidisco.com happily replaced it and all is solved. I was very pleased with their customer service.

WOW! This is Surely Great News!!!! I'm back into using MDs after quite a few years, I just bought my MZ100, and now these improvements made it all worthwhile! Absolutely amazing, Sony did what it was supposed to do, and I appreciate every bit of it wholeheartedly. Congratulations, and Thank you Sony....

Hi, I just bought a M100 and I was quite happy with it until I tried to charge the battery that came with the unit. It simply won't charge. Can I kindly direct you to this thread of mine? http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=13810 (I hope it's not rude to mention my problem in a review thread, but I couldn't find the proper place to utter my desperation. Thank you.)

Hi, I don't know if this is the right part of the forum for my question but I cannot seem to charge the battery on my new M100. I install the battery correctly as the manual says, then I plug the AC and press the stop/charge button, as the manual says, and there is no response from the unit. Whatever I do, it goes directly to the AC mode, when I unplug, it starts showing the battery meter, which I presume starts using the batteries only then. Did anyone who has M100 encounter this peculiar behavior? I'd appreciate your helps, Thank you...
