If I convert to ATRAC lossless can I later convert the ATRAC file to fx mp3?

Have you installed the correct codecs? xvid, ac3 ...? I had problem when I first installed but it turned out to be a bad xvid installation.

The first thing I would try is to turn off the Norton programs and try again. Also have you installed to default location or have you altered the installation path?

The NW-E00X_MP3_File_Manager-0.13 is a java program. Just put it on a folder on the player and start the program.

You can not use it *together* with SS. Well you can use it to get music off the player but if you try to upload music SS thinks the database is corrupt. But if you use the OMGAudio folder they have on their site you should be all set (I think)... Essentially if it works for linux it works (or can be made to work) with mac. (oooh I wish I had one)

I would suggest to do a thorough uninstall emptying all temp folders, cleaning the registry and so forth. Then do a clean install. I am currently running SS on Vista and XP and it's really works like a charm. I am almost certain that any problems you have are related to some old sin in your installation. Good luck

Yes, I also found the vista drag and drop issue. I hoped that someone had found a solution to that Anyway I quite like sonicstage and have no problems/issues whatsoever with it. That said I have a folder on the player where I have GYM and music move. That is a perfectly adequate solution but obvoiusly not any more because of vista... Aalaap, I don't understand your remark about drag and drop and iPod. The iPod also uses a properiate program for handling your music. You can not copy music from the player without special software. So it is the same situation with iPod as with sony. (just that the sony sound better )

Anyone who have a solution to this? musicmove does not accept drag and drop from explorer in vista.

You can use the updatefile from sony. Unpack it and inside the 'files' folder you should start 'connect player.msi'. That's a full installation.

Anyone got musicmove to function properly in vista? IE drag and drop does not work on my machine. If so which version and *how*?

That's just my point. Maybe it is "shriller" than 706 (do you by that mean more powerful highs?) but it is *not* a shrill player compared to much of the competition like nano, cowon's and so forth

I think the "shrillness" of the 808 has been grossly exaggerated in this thread. It could very much be that the 706 sound better (i've never heard it so I can't judge on that) but even so the 808 is one hell of a good sounding player. Of the players I've owned this is easily the best sounding of them. (nano, nw-a1000 and Iaudio U3). Together with my ath-ck7 I get a sound that is amasing. Tight punchy bass and sparkling (not shrill) highs. So maybe a little perspective here...

I need to know the movie format specification that the a800 accepts. I've tried to convert video with some other programs but with no luck... I get a message saying "Can not play. File format not supported". Anyone who have had success with another program than imageconverter? cheers

I have quite alot of albums ripped to flac that I would like to convert to ATRAC advanced lossless or some other format that my sony can read. Which program is best to use?

*SOLVED* First I realised that mpeg movies were converted flawlessly. I reran Gspot noting that xvid *was* correctly installed. (Vista codec pack). I took a chance and reinstalled with another xvid release and now it works correctly.

I'm at work now so I'll provide that info when I get home. I did however test with iRiverter (using ipod profile) and then it was ok albeit the quality didn't seem to be on par with those converted with imageconverter. could it be any codec that is not installed? But shouldn't the program complain in that case?

The converted film is upside down and mirrored. The supplied spiderman trailer is not like this. I've uninstalled and installed again two times but to no avail.

All movies I convert is mirrored after conversion !?! I can not find any setting that controls this. Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?
