  1. I'm using my RH910 strictly on USB power now, so I don't need the wall or car chargers any more. They also worked with my old MZ-R70, so they should work with most other Sony units which require 3V/500mA. Not looking for much, just $10US to cover shipping to North America (or anywhere else where they would be compatible). PM if interested!
  2. I've been systematically cleaning out my local Walmarts, as they've been putting their MD stock on clearance. So far I've bought 15 5-packs of the Sony "Color Collection" for $3 a pop.
  3. I couldn't personally care less where this forum is located, or if it's perceived to be tied to a specific brand. I come here to read up on MiniDisc info, to engage in the odd bit of commerce and to ask the occasional question or two. What I type in the address bar is completely irrelevant to me. I have 5,182 more important things to worry about than the politics of an internet forum. Bottom line, it's a valuable yet free resource created and maintained by good and knowledgable people and will continue to be so!
  4. My 20-year old CD player just bit the dust, so I picked up a virtually new Sony changer with optical out off Kijiji. Now I get to redo all my MDs straight digital to digital. Let the fun begin! On a side note, I'm a little disappointed that standalone CD players have bit the dust. Gone are the days big badass stereo systems with tower speakers. Everyone wants miniaturized iPod shelf systems now. Sigh.
  5. MZ-R70s are solid and they're quite plentiful on eBay in that price range.
  6. Nirvana's greatest hits and Nine Inch Nails: The Fragile. Also, Walmart was clearing out their MDs, so I helped them out with that....six 5-packs of Sony 80min "Colour Collection" for 3 bucks a pop.
  7. My RH910 is getting flaky, so I'll be phasing out of HiMD for field recording and going with something flash-based. I'm still stickin' to legacy MD for my music though! Anyway, I have 12 sealed discs that I'll never use, so I'll offer 'em up here before going the eBay route. I'm thinking $60 US shipped to North America, anywhere else we'll talk. Paypal only please, and just an FYI, I have an eBay score of 72 with 100% feedback under the name 'threedollarbird'. Message me if interested!
  8. Didja check the date on that article, namely the month?
  9. There are tons in Walmart. At least in Canada....
  10. I was not aware of this...is it just a case of SS inflating the file to be the same size as SP?
  11. The Cayman Islands are listed in the PayPal sign-up section. The only areas I could see not being allowed to join would be maybe politically unstable countries. Other than that, you should be good to go as long as you have a credit card to verify your address. The only thing you can't do if you don't live in the U.S. is get verified without a cc, in which case they mail you a letter with a special code. Also, private sellers don't have the means to accept credit card payments directly, so without PayPal they'd have to rely on wire transfers and certified cheques/money orders. Overall, I think it's a great system.
  12. Just out of curiosity, what restrictions does using PayPal impose? I can't think of ever having a problem in the last 3 years.
  13. I went down that same road with Minidisc Canada, when the NH-14WM they sent me blew up inside my MT877. I was able to remove it with no ill effects to my unit and sent it back for replacment, now everything seems fine with the new one. Besides GP, another gumstick to consider is Vapex. I bought 2 from this eBay seller a year ago and have been pleasantly surprised. $6 a piece and I can get over 4 hours straight recording time in PCM mode on my RH910.
