  1. http://digital-lifestyles.info/display_pag...atforms&id=3151 Wish it was available in greater sizes. (All they need now is a HDD version)
  2. I almost got excited for a moment.
  3. You know, Sony should just let Sony Ericsson make their mp3 players, because they seem to make competitive products.
  4. That's my problem. If I could get an A608 (Silver), I'd be able to use that until Sony releases a competitive MP3 player. But I can't find it anywhere that can ship to the USA. I'm stuck with the iPod.
  5. I think the Shuffle was the only iPod that Sony could actually say they had a product that outclassed it on every level. By introducing the 1GB Nano, Apple is merely increasing their lead on competitors, because the iPod range is huge now. Shuffles for around $60, means people can get it at similair prices as a CD player. There is no touching Apple.
  6. Sony is just handing their customers over to Apple and others. As much as I want to support Sony, getting an A608 is just too troublesome, so it looks like an iPod it is.
  7. I think the point was, Sony is very slow moving. The A3000 was already behind the iPod when announced (the 20GB color iPod), and it's been what, 4-5 months, and Apple has released the Nano and the Video iPod, while Sony still hasn't released the A series in the US. I wouldn't expect a video player from Sony for quite a while, and by that time, there will be a new major feature that all DAPs are coming out with that Sony doesn't have. I still don't get why Sony released a DAP that had a color screen, and then went back to no color. Talk about stupid moves.
  8. Is there anyway I can get the A608 in the US? If not, where is the cheapest place to order it from, and will I have any problems (with the FM and all) by having it imported from another country?
  9. Wait, reading on the news (I miss being able to discuss the news in the Announcements forum, got so much more information), I hear that Sony is killing Connect Player, and reintroducing SonicStage? Well, what's happening to the relaunch happening in March for the Video service and the eBooks? If Connect Player is ceasing to exist, what happens to both of them? And while it had it's problems, Connect Player actually made sense, because of the name. Connect Music Store + Connect Player, rather than SonicStage. And I loved Connect's interface. (I figured what I would do is since I want to support Sony, and get an mp3 player, I'd get a flash player, and then just wait until a video hdd walkman is released.)
  10. I hope that's true. But February is the latest I can hold out. I am in desperate need for an mp3 player, and if Sony can't offer me one, I'm going to go with Toshiba.
  11. I fail to see Sony ever making a comeback. Sony just has become so out of touch with reality, they honestly believe that the A3000 is going to challenge the iPod, when it's so behind the iPod featurewise it's astonishing. Why doesn't Sony let their computer division make MP3 players? Their first attempt beat the iPod in so many ways. Yet they chose not to let them make an updated version. I love Sony. I want a Sony mp3 player. But I want a mp3 player with at least as much features as the competition.
  12. Absolutely nothing good for Sony's MP3 players.
  13. Thanks. The Gigabeat really does seem good. Can't wait for it's release.
  14. I came upon this a day or two ago. I think I may have found the perfect mp3 player for me. (It was either this or the iPod) http://dapreview.net/news.php?extend.2788 (More screens at link) 30GBs, FM Tuner, Video/Picture functionality, it has everything that I could want. Only thing is, I might just hold off until some reviews appear, I'm not too sure about Toshiba hardware. (And I've already began organizing my music on iTunes and Connect) But it's down to this or the iPod, and it seems that I might go with this one. (Unless Sony can announce a Vaio Pocket with a bigger screen, smaller dimension, and video playback) Anyone opinions?
  15. I'm never going to understand Sony. This is the time that they could possibly rival the iPod, yet they decide not to. By the time Walkman with video capabilities roll out, Apple will have a new gimmick leaving Sony watching their dust again.
  16. So, they are still promoting the NWA3000. There goes my hopes of being surprised. (Well, since I don't want an iPod, Toshiba is releasing a very good product, that looks amazing)
  17. Anybody find it strange that absolutely no Walkman announcements were made? TVs, PCs, Laptops, Blu-Ray players, etc. all had announcements, but no new Walkman. Sony is realeasing the Connect Video service (In March), but no Walkman to support it?
  18. I would take back everything bad I've said about Sony if they announce a new Walkman at CES (being released soon of course), color screen, video playback, picture functionality, great design (HD5 was so plain if you asked me, I liked the A3000, but it was too large), great battery life, and either 20-30 GBs. Or a Vaio Player with the above functionality. (Honestly, one of the dumbest things Sony did was dropping support for the VP brand. They had Apple beat, had they only marketed it more.)
  19. So we won't be seeing the fruits of this announcement for years to come.
  20. http://www.reed-electronics.com/electronic.../CA6294125.html Good move. This could possibly be the turning around year for the Walkman brand. Now please Sony, don't give it less featuares than the Nano. Go all out, and even add voice recording, FM Radio, etc.
  21. It's Christmas Eve. The A3000 is not in stores here in the US. Amazon.com doesn't have it. How is this supposed to kill the iPod if they aren't even selling it in the US during the most opportune time of the year? Connect Player hasn't had the upcoming update yet, and really, this is just a huge mess Sony has created. With CES so close, I'm hoping the iPod killer is announced. I'm hoping Connect gets improved. I'm hoping for Sony to win me back!!!
  22. When will Sony learn? They're never going to catch Apple. Creative's new player is what the A3000 should have been.
  23. The thing about Connect is, I love the interface, a lot more than iTunes. I just wish it was a lot faster.
