Posted October 18, 2004 Report Share Posted October 18, 2004 hi i read that u can transfer data from a memory stick to a hi-md by using the sony card reader mcmd-r1. but can u use any card reader? because the no-name card readers are much cheaper. i need one because ill go on a trip and i need to put my photos on the hi-md. thanks! The_Stamp Posted October 18, 2004 Report Share Posted October 18, 2004 no, unfortunately, not yet. only that expensive beast of a machine =/ thats because card readers just plug into the computer, and expect the commands to copy, read or write. if you plug it into a hi-md, the hialso expects the commands to read, copy or write. so you'll have two sitting ducks. The mcmd-r1 has a button that initiates the copy command. another note is that memory reader require power, and the hi-md's power is already being used. no falsh memory writer has a batt slot, because its always been powered by the usb port =/. kinda dissapointing, eh?
