linzq
I have a Hi-MD MZ-NHF800 and an ECM-MS907 mic. All of my live recordings have a hiss in the background. It's not too bad, it just sounds like there are fans on where I am recording. However, no matter how quiet the space I record in is, there is always this hiss. I have experienced the same sound using auto and manual recording levels. Any suggestions on how to reduce the hiss? Is it the quality of the mic? One of the settings on the MD? Thanks for any help! Christopher
Have you tried searching mate? Since we have such a great group of recording enthusiasts I think we've covered this one before. Here's a sample topic to get you started: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=6359 You may want to try searching for just hiss and see what pops up. guru48
Try a better microphone. Sony mikes tend to have self noise in them that can give you this hiss.
