cmoubell
I have looked for weeks, but there is no where I can find a driver for windows media 10 that will let me sync it with a sony item (sony s2 net md walkman mz-s1 to be exact). It pisses me off that they have support for basically every other mp3 and md player or "portable media device" on the microsoft windows media player 10 site!!!Seen here with a list of all compatible devices for windows media player 10: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...spx#Category600I am not someone who likes having to download more them one media player an add garbage to my computer that I'd only be using for MP3 transfers between the PC and MD through the USB wire.ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA ON THIS SUBJECT?!? CAUSE THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!!-Thanks cmo
Christopher
You have created four topics for this question. Never again. One topic per question please.
MZ-NH1
cmoubell, the reason why WMP doesn't support Sony's MD, is because Sony hasn't given anyone the right to use it's own shitty .oma format!I asked exactly the same question in the Microsoft forums, and this is the answer I received.“No. Sony doesn't want you to use WMP, thus you must use the software they supply.”
atrain
i think you'll find it's not that they don't want anyone to use the format, but that they want fees for the licence. note that real were desperate for anyone to use realplayer & actually shelled out. pretty crappy tho not unusually insular marketing decision bu sony
zerodB
The answer to your question is: NO. THERE IS NO DRIVER TO SYNC WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER WITH YOUR MD!Absolutley none at all. And besides, MDs don't play MP3 files, they play their own format called ATRAC. NetMDs are not MP3 Players, they never have been and never will be. All NetMDs are just fancy audio cassete players with PC connectivity. While it is possible to convert MP3 to ATRAC, this is not recommended as it will incur a substatial loss of quality in the resulting sound.AFAIK, there is also no way to get MDs to "Sync". You transfer the music to the device. When you no longer need that music, you delete the track, and send another track.
