Strungup
I often find "IMP" in mic.what does this word mean? I would be very grateful if any one could tell me some detail about this mike? Thanks a lot Hi I am new to this forum ,in fact I joined just to answer your post, I own the ECM 23 as well , also have a buttload of MD suffThe specs are as follows Freq response 20hz-20khz S/N 70Db A weightedDynamic Range 110 Db Max input 137DbImpedance is 200 ohms ( preamp recommended)DO NOT USE PHANTOM POWER!!!!!!!!! only use the power from the Battery inside .This mike is alsmost perfect for acoustic instruments if yu use a preamp. It has a Close Cardoid pattern not quite a Hyper CardioidBut a "Close Cardioid" Best recording technique is to have it at a distance of about 10-14 inches from your instrument pointed toward the most reflective acoustical point, add a little midrange and cut just a little high end off , that will take care of any white noise, and give acoustic clarity. The best Mike I have ever used for the minidisc is the AT- 822 from Audio Technica, I have info on preamps for MiniDisc that will make everyone happy ,one I will share here ,.....Rolls MX34 ... http://www.rolls.com/rollsproducts/klik that or copy and paste, then in the drop down box at the left select MX34 ..........you will like if you email me I can send a pic of the shematics to you ,
