BenJammin
One thing I'm a bit tweaked about is not being able to get MP3s or Audilble.com books that I purchase onto my HiMD. I think that Audible is just an MP3 with somekind of modified header to it, but I could be wrong.Anyone know of a way to transfer from your Audible library to your HiMD? BobS
And not just Audible. I have many MP3s that SonicStage will not handle. I have been converting them to wav files and then letting SS upload them to my HiMD. This seems to work fine, just takes more time.
Justin42
I thought Audible was some form of AAC (like what iTunes/iPod uses)..?
Classicalgas
Audible uses a DRM protected version of Mp3.I wanted to transfer my books to MD, and just last night I looked at the problem and and it wasn't too hard to solve. Here's what I did:1. Start eDonkey or your favourite P2P file sharing program2. Search for RiverFast Audio converter Version 5.0 (must be that exact version, not earlier or later).3. Download and install the converter4. Use RiverFast to convert your .aa files to wav or mp3, then convert to ATRAC via SS.Legal stuff:The version of riverfast you will find is a trial. If you like it, consider buying it. It may come with a crack, but that's dishonest and is stealing from the developer. Also, your books are subject to various restrictions - to be legal you should observe your agreement with Audible and not distribute them. You are breaking your agreement by doing this, but depending on where you live you may be entitled to make a fair use copy.

daremo
If you don't mind wasting a few CDs you can install the CD recorder option and then import the CDs into SonicStage. Kinda long process, but it works.

8track
Why not just connect the MD to the line out jack on your sound card hit record and play the file? Edited February 21, 2005 by 8track
petertkalec
Audible is all about audio tapes... spanish lessons, for instance, can be tens of hours long... the USB transfer is pretty key.
