I im going to go to futureshop and get my money back for my MD recorder i bought on the 26th of last month. Its not that i dont like MD players, as a matter of fact i love it. the only reason i am returning it is because i am going to buy a Hi-MD. Now this is the problem, at first i didnt want to spend to much, and i didnt. But not i find my self sacraficing songs to put differnt ones on is getting anoying. so i am going to buy a Hi-MD, but which one! There are 2 avalible to me. here are the links

Cheaper one: MZ-NHD600D

Or this one which im not sure is worth the extra cash.(all in CND funds)

MZ-NH700

Now to me the FM tuner isnt really all that spectacular and i had one on my normal MD. It sometimes pulled the earbuds out of my ears. Besides that is the only thing the MZ-NH700 better cause of the microphone jack? Please reply in a hurry!!!(Sorry for my typing, i am rushing and in normal situations im not all that good either..)

First - in the future, please consider making your topic's title and description relevant to what you're going to ask. An example in this instance might have been "Which HiMD should I buy?"

If you don't need recording capabilites, the NH600D might suit your needs.

If you're going to use the unit for recording, don't get the NH600D. That 'D' there means 'Downloader" and that the unit has no recording capabilities at all, i.e. no mic input, no line in/optical.

The NH700 is the base model recorder. It does not have a radio tuner - that would be the NHF800.

Cheers and have fun with your upgrade.

Thanks a bunch, i wont make the same mistake again. also i was browsing and i came across this affordable 1 gig player by sony, heres the link Net Walkman

I know this is a Minidisc forum but im hoping someone might know if these are any good. i might stay away because you can expand the ammount of room... but it is smaller..

I think that the Net Walkman would be a fine choice for someone who only copies files off of a PC. It's pluses are small size and native MP3 playback. In my opinion it suffers from the lack of a user replacable battery and removable media. With the Network Walkman you'll be dependant on a PC to charge the device and you'll be stuck with no more than 1gb of files with you at any time. Ultimately the choice is yours, you won't go too wrong with either choice in my opinion.

if price is not that far from the model u mention about, choose any models that is made in japan

don't ever spend cash on models that are not made in japan

very soon, u will know the difference

md portable is really a very sensitive product "now"(especially the ones from Sony), 1 or 2 times drop it to the table may make it malfunction

u seems never talk about the needs of ur future player

how about sound quality?(what sort of music u will play more? classic? pop? rock?)

will u use it for data storage?

is removable media a must?

(NW-HDx seems a likely choice for u, as the only difference is

1. it does not have removable media

2. it use hard disk, and that would damage to the hard disk would mean u may have to buy another one)
