Kardon
I im going to go to futureshop and get my money back for my MD recorder i bought on the 26th of last month. Its not that i dont like MD players, as a matter of fact i love it. the only reason i am returning it is because i am going to buy a Hi-MD. Now this is the problem, at first i didnt want to spend to much, and i didnt. But not i find my self sacraficing songs to put differnt ones on is getting anoying. so i am going to buy a Hi-MD, but which one! There are 2 avalible to me. here are the linksCheaper one: MZ-NHD600DOr this one which im not sure is worth the extra cash.(all in CND funds)MZ-NH700Now to me the FM tuner isnt really all that spectacular and i had one on my normal MD. It sometimes pulled the earbuds out of my ears. Besides that is the only thing the MZ-NH700 better cause of the microphone jack? Please reply in a hurry!!!(Sorry for my typing, i am rushing and in normal situations im not all that good either..)
dex Otaku
First - in the future, please consider making your topic's title and description relevant to what you're going to ask. An example in this instance might have been "Which HiMD should I buy?"If you don't need recording capabilites, the NH600D might suit your needs. If you're going to use the unit for recording, don't get the NH600D. That 'D' there means 'Downloader" and that the unit has no recording capabilities at all, i.e. no mic input, no line in/optical. The NH700 is the base model recorder. It does not have a radio tuner - that would be the NHF800. Cheers and have fun with your upgrade.

Fat Tires
I think that the Net Walkman would be a fine choice for someone who only copies files off of a PC. It's pluses are small size and native MP3 playback. In my opinion it suffers from the lack of a user replacable battery and removable media. With the Network Walkman you'll be dependant on a PC to charge the device and you'll be stuck with no more than 1gb of files with you at any time. Ultimately the choice is yours, you won't go too wrong with either choice in my opinion.
dex Otaku
It would also be a great deal faster at transferring tracks from your PC than any netMD or HiMD can be.
Michael1980
The mp3 transfer on the Sony NW-E99 is not that fast, since it still does wrapping DRM and it limited to USB1.1 . dex Otaku
Oi. A flash-based device limited to USB 1.1?That's a huge throwback.

Guest tony wong
if price is not that far from the model u mention about, choose any models that is made in japandon't ever spend cash on models that are not made in japanvery soon, u will know the differencemd portable is really a very sensitive product "now"(especially the ones from Sony), 1 or 2 times drop it to the table may make it malfunction
Guest tony wong
u seems never talk about the needs of ur future playerhow about sound quality?(what sort of music u will play more? classic? pop? rock?)will u use it for data storage?is removable media a must?(NW-HDx seems a likely choice for u, as the only difference is1. it does not have removable media2. it use hard disk, and that would damage to the hard disk would mean u may have to buy another one)
Guest tony wong
points to add for NW-HDx : it's playing would be extremely shorter than MD or Hi-MDand I can guess, the network walkman may have same problem(short playing time)
