Anyone with an RH10 or RH910 with an English instruction manual -

Could you please scan the spec/feature pages in the manual and attach them to this thread.

Thank you!

RH10 spec page, I did not scan the optional accessories page. There is no extra optical cable like what shipped with the NH900. There is no speed control like the NH900 and there is no line out function. But, that OLED screen... biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Does the RH10 support date/timestamping?

Thank you to both of you.

I haven't tried the mp3 file playback. Not sure about the time stamp, I will check on that in the morning. But, it does save the manual recording level on the RH10. I really like that the USB does charge the battery this generation. Although Sony warns it will only give about 1/2 charge in 6 hours and that laptops on battery power won't do the job. At least they got it half right, no reason why USB can't charge the battery some.

I thought I read on the forums that you could record in mp3 at 128 but that is NOT an option. Not any where near a big deal but I thought I read that. I will only be using PCM or Hi-SP for concerts and the like.

Here's what I have noted: no speed control, no MDLP recording on the unit, the lack of line out on the menu, the lack of the Virtual Sound effects (never used them)

But, the file name scrolls during playback and is much easier to read. The EQsettings are much, much, much easier to set for custom sounds. There is a File option, don't remember that on the NH900. Allows you to customize how you want to display data files.

More later, bottom line: I really like my RH10 regardless of the lack of some features. I will 98% of the time be using this unit in live music recording settings. It's far better with the OLED compared to the weak LCD (and even the 40ELK remote) of the NH900. The battery life savings of the OLED are very noticeable. I recorded 2 hours in PCM with the NiMH and the AA on Saturday night and I never came off the full battery charge until almost the end. Plus, this unit ships with the better battery the NH14 not that lame 900mAh that came with the NH900.

Just received my RH10 from Japan today. I transferred four files: two successive live tracks from a concert in LP, and those same tracks in LAME MP3 @ 160 CBR.

First of all, the gap between both tracks, for both formats, was in the milliseconds as Zappa stated. Neither one seemed to have an advantage in my opinion.

Second, I gotta say that LP sounded MUCH better. LAME MP3 @ 160 CBR sounded "flat". LP2 sounded lively and richer it seems. I'm not sure I can interpret this result sad.gif [Note that my tests were without any EQing or anything.]

@Hironiemus: VBR playback was fine for the files I tested. Nothing to comment on it.
