new set of head phones

Hi ya, i am thinking of getting a new set of head phones, at the mow iam using the standard ones with mz-nh900 but i was wondering wot u lot though of the Sony MDR-EX71SLB Fontopia Headphones, i also like the fact that they have a short cord for use with remote products.

ANy thoughts would be greatfully recieved.

I selected SP, I have over 250 prerecorded MD's and 150 recorded MD's all in SP, when SP is played back on my home unit with the digital output feeding an external DAC it gives up very little to CD. Since buying an NH1 and an RH10 most of the CD transfers I'm doing are in PCM. I use MD's mostly for travel and want the best sound possible.

I have been doing some tests with my new RH10. I've recorded spoken word with a nice Sennheiser wireless lavalier system in both PCM and Hi-SP modes. So far, the Hi-SP mode seems perfectly acceptable. I could not hear a difference in the audio quality. I will be testing music and some live sound recording in the next couple of weeks.

In my old Yamaha studio phones I could not hear any loss in recording quality.

For my purposes, Hi-SP mode give me 7 hours on a disc. That's great.

Should really be a new topic, but:

I have some senheiser mx400's (mx500's without the volume control), they are really good and you can get them cheap from loads of places (richer sounds, play.com, empire direct) all about £15. They dont have a really short cord, but it is about 1m. Try opening a new topic in the 'phones board - you will get more responses!
