Blynk_Boy
Okay, I've looked through this forum, but I figured maybe a direct answer might help me more. I have a MZ-S1 MD recorder. And well, I've been playing the piano for 13 year now. I thought it'd be awesome if I could record my songs and upload them to my computer, like to an MP3 file or something. My mom won't let me download programs on her laptop, so I figured I'd use my MD recorder to record the songs, and I'm very confused, haha1. Sooo... first of all, I'm looking for a mic. I want it to sound like a decent piano, and price doesn't really matter unless it's above $100, though cheaper is better.2. Sonicstage won't allow me to put songs, that I've recorded on my MD player, onto the computer. Something to do with copyright issues or something. So... that also leaves me wondering... how can I get the songs to an MP3?And, well, if I have a mic and I can upload my songs to the computer, than that'll do it. Please don't flame me, cause I know there's like a million topics like this . I juss' wanted a direct answer. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thx.Kevin F. The Low Volta
welcome to the forums, check the "live recording forum" for ideas on mics... this thread helps to explain what you should be looking at when choosing one, and even give a couple of retailers that sell good/cheap mics (like the BMCS's from SoundPro's)I have a MZ-S1 MD recorder2. Sonicstage won't allow me to put songs, that I've recorded on my MD player, onto the computer. Something to do with copyright issues or something. So... that also leaves me wondering... how can I get the songs to an MP3?since you have a non-Hi-MD player (I think), uploading (i.e. just clicking 'transfer to PC' in SonicStage) will never work, as it is only possible with Hi-MD and it has nothing to do with copyrights at all...for other methods of getting the recording onto a computer...check this thread...Please don't flame me, cause I know there's like a million topics like this. I juss' wanted a direct answer.not to flame you, but if you know that there are a lot of topics like this, and as most of the info (the how to guide) I've given comes from the pinned (very important) topics in the "live recording" section of the forums...why not try to look around a bit at least next time?greetings, Volta

greenmachine
And by the way, there is no such thing an an universal direct answer. Search around what suits your needs (and your budget) best.
Blynk_Boy
Hmmm... thanks for the info, guys. I had also forgotten about the digital pianos that can hook up to a computer. I may just get one of those and record the songs directly onto my comp. Thanks again
