Guest Rhiannon
Hi, I'm hoping to get a little more information on the mz-nh600 in regards to system requirements. I'd really like to buy one of these units, but I don't know if my system will be able to support it, as it is quite old. Unfortunately, I'm not very computer savvy or else I'd be able to work it out for myself, but as it is I was hoping that someone would be willing to walk me through it. Thanks in advance, Rhiannon. atrain
can you please register here? this thread will be moved to a place more sutible for thsi topic. Microsoft?? Windows?? 98 SE, ME, 2000 or XP• Minimum of 500 Mhz processor• Minimum of 400 MB available hard disk space• Minimum of 128 MB RAM• Internet Explorer 5.5 or later • CD-ROM drive (for installation and import or playback from CD)• Supported CD-Recordable drive (for CD burning purposes) • Internet Connection (broadband suggested)is what's required, are you sure you only have 56mb of ram? that sounds wrong to me. you may have more ram but that'll be the shared graphics memory.if what you posted is correct then i'm afraid you fall below the minimum specs. perhaps you can use a friend or family members new PC? rhiannon
Firstly, thanks for your help on both forums. I appreciate it. Secondly, yes, the information I posted is correct. I don't see how it could be anything but, considering that I went straight to System as you said. This computer has recently been upgraded, so maybe that explains the strange RAM?Unfortunately I don't have access to a better computer, which is disappointing, because I was really keen on getting this minidisc. Are you sure that I wouldn't be able to use it? It doesn't really matter if it's slow or anything. I'm not looking for optimum performance. Thanks, Rhiannon. tommypeters
Well, 56MB RAM is a strange number...It may be 64MB with 8MB used for shared graphics memory, but I have never seen it listed like that. RAM Sizes are usually 48, 64 or 128MB on older computers and 256, 512 or 1024MB on newer.I don't think 56MB RAM can possibly handle the necessary SW for a minidisc.
