Hey

does the new nw-1000 have a volume limiter in the UK model?

If it has then can you unlock it the same way as the HD5?

Thanks

Lot of discussion has already taken place in "avfourm" but still no one is able to crack the volume limiter in NW-A1000.U can try to unlock nw-a1000 the same way NW-HD5 was unlocked (As many people have claimed that it works)

Europeans: Boost the volume of the NW-HD# series.

ok il just have to wait then. Do you know how long the battery life is on the a1000 when playing vbr mp3 tracks. I read that its only 20 hours if you use atrac files?

Sony doesn`t give specific battery life for specific codec(Especially for the "A-SERIES") therefore u will have to check on ur own.

thanks

im using mostly vbr mp3s and 190 kbps mp3s but my nw1000 only lasts a couple of hours. is this normal or is there something wrnog with the battery?

correction, up to 29 hours for 128kbps for the A3000 while it is up to 17hrs for the A1000. up to 35hrs for atrac3+ @ 48kbps for the A3000 and up to 20 hours for the A1000, same bitrate.

the info is from sony canada.

a couple of hours? elaborate please, 3 hours is a couple in my book and this is rather poor. Perhaps recharge it once more and then try it.

How loud are you listening to it? and are you using hte EQ, the backlight settings?

VBR huh, judging from your nick, you listen to houe music? As do I and I myself have tons of songs in VBR but this usually isn't the best option and I usually redo them to 192kbps, unless the VBR is higher than I got with 256kbps.

Perhaps try some 192 atrac3+ files and see how the battery life stacks up then.

1.Turn ur backlight to "Auto" using main menu

2.Charge ur player again(Too full)

3.If the problem still persists contact sony service centre............................
