eMDe
I was trying to transfer a Group of analog Line-in Recordings to my SS Library. It was about 2Hours of Sound Material and while the transfer was going i did a lot with Photoshop and Illustrator and let SS in the Background working. This seems to be a mistake because the transference stopped and left me with an 1GB Hi-md wich is now not playable anymore. The Recorder (RH10) displays the Errormessage:"Cannot Record or Play"After, it wants to reformat the whole Disc to restore its functionallity.Does anyone knows something about? Is there anyway to bring back my lost Audiomaterial?Thxe
Martin
Hi, try to remove the disc and then insert it again. BTW in the past I had received this message because of bad unit and onlywith Hi-MD mode on standard MDs. 1GB disc were OK. In the service centerthey told me it was some failure on hardware, unrepairable and gave me another unit. This new one is without problems now. From those times I have some recorded materials waiting for some smart recover utility..:-)M. eMDe
Thanks Martin, but i don't think that it depends on my Rh10.I reinsert the Disc much times and i also cleaned the Hi-md up. But still there left this errormessage. In the Explorer i'm able to put Windows Data on it or create folders and so on. But There is no contact to my Audiofiles anymore.Looks like the MDfile system is damaged. sers'

Well, some HiMD-units have a firmware bug that may leave disc in bad condition after you've done such things! This is documented in various threads here. However, at this point, do NOT allow the unit to format your disc now - press the STOP/CANCEL-key after inserting the damaged disc when the unit asks you to confirm the format! Usually, the most of the disc's contents is still readable for SonicStage, so you may save your recordings this way: Playback the tracks in SS and record them simultaneously from the computer's soundcard (at least analoguous, or even digitally if you have a capable soundcard and a tool like TotalRecorder available).Be careful and do not try to upload already uploaded tracks, since SonicStage will delete them from the disc without prior warning! Cheers - Killroy.

Well, some HiMD-units have a firmware bug that may leave disc in bad condition after you've done such things!for shure i did a lot of editing on this stuff i wanted to upload. But i did it the same way like i did many times before, without any similar problems.at your Solution, I'm not able to play my Tracks with Sonic Stage. The file list left blank after inserting the disk and there is shown an errormessage : Disk is not playable and must be initialised... The file list left blank after inserting the disk and there is shown an errormessage : Disk is not playable and must be initialised...←Hi,I'm sorry for you, but in this case the disc seems to be really lost - looks like SonicStage wrote an erroneous or incomplete TOC (aka "System File") to disc during upload (and it updates the TOC just before it really starts uploading any tracks, so that you cannot even think of byassing the wonderful DRM by interrupting the upload process at the right time). However, since you did nothing weird with your equipment (as I assume), maybe it would be worth it to return unit and disc to your vendor and ask him to resolve the problem.Cheers - Killroy. I'm not shure if my Ventor can help me with that. I will have a look and if this comes up a second time I'll return the Rh10. But for the future i'll let the PC just running SS while uploading files over 60min.What's about your experience in Uploading Tracks or Groups wich contains more than 60 min. of Sound Material? The Low Volta
But for the future i'll let the PC just running SS while uploading files over 60min.What's about your experience in Uploading Tracks or Groups wich contains more than 60 min. of Sound Material?I have uploaded 60min+ recordings quite often and never had any problems (NH900, SS3.1) but then again I leave my PC well alone during uploads... too afraid that SS might not get the processor power it needs... and it needs a lot!greetings, Volta
