unohoo
I used iTunes 4.9 Mac to download MP3 files of some podcasts. These were imported into Sonicstage 3.2 as MP3 files and placed onto a newly formatted HiMD disc. Those MP3 files from Air America Radio, when the disc created this way was played gave this message: "can't play". Files from Democracy Now don't give this message and play right on. Any suggestions as to what is going on?
atrain
what's the details of the files? kbs? khz? have you tried converting them to another format?
Syrius
I see that you mention Podcasts. Usually, them files are too low on bitrate, and SS cannot handle them sometimes. Try converting them to another format, just like Atrain suggested. (I'd suggest Wav or WMA lossless and then import and load into SS.) Or convert them to 64/96 kbps MP3, CBR. You can convert the files into Atrac with SS but you must remove the mp3 version from the library afterwards. Otherwise, SS will keep transferring the mp3 file. Even easier is to format a standard minidisc to Net MD mode. You lose space (not much of an issue at these bitrates), but SS will automatically convert the files to Atrac when you transfer.TK

The files which "work" have much better sound quality and are bigger files, confirming the gist of of what is said here above. Shoulda occurred to me, but that's why I asked here!
