MZ-G750 to computer

I have had my Sony MZ-G750 for some time now and i am just now trying to copy my music from the MD recorder into my Dell laptop. The recorder has a PC Link which is USB-compatible and i am wanting to copy my shows from MD to the computer and then eventually to CD.

I am kind of new at this stuff so i don't really know if my computer will actually convert the files or if i have to take my MD recordings to a professional sound technician.

I would appreciate it if somebody would be so kind as to let me know if this is possible or if I just need a brand new MD recorder. Thank you. smile.gif

welcome to MDCF rbperc,

I would appreciate it if somebody would be so kind as to let me know if this is possible or if I just need a brand new MD recorder. Thank you.  smile.gif

1. you can get your stuff from MD->PC with your MD-recorder (without help from pros tongue.gif ), but only in realtime (and unless you have an MD-deck with optical out, only analoguely...but quality still is pretty good)

2. if you want to upload faster, you need to buy a HiMD... but beware, you will not be able to upload older recordings

read all about it in this thread and feel free to ask more questions! always glad to help

Here's how to do it. It is all realtime recording, which is the only option with old MDs.

I've never used a PC Link but I think it is like a line-in jack that goes into USB. If you have a line-in jack on your laptop, then just get a cord (a stereo miniplug, like the end of your headphone cord, on each end) and go directly from your headphone jack to line-in. If all you have is a mic jack, then use the PC-Link.

Here are links to the manuals for Xitel, depending on your model.
