mercurius
Can anyone give me some advice about which mini disc player and mic to use for interviewing people and for recording a travel journal. It is to use abroad when travelling. Battery life is a consideration too. Many thanks in advance for your advice.mercurius
GoHurdler1
Hello:I do interviews with the MZ-B100, MDLP (built in stereo microphones and speaker) recorder. The only problem is that it is NOT a HIMD format recorder so it doesn’t use the 1 gig disks. You can record disks in the LP mode to extend their length.I am looking for a HIMD replacement for the MZ-B100 (part of Sony’s business line) because I want to lower the collection of disks that I have. Sony has some professional models the MZ-100 and MZ-10. These models do not have built in microphones or speakers.I’ve used Sony's ECM-MS907 microphone and it has worked fine. The microphone is powered by a double AA battery.I would also purchase a disk cleaner for it. It comes in handy when the player isn't playing correctly.I posted this message in another part of the forum. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=12008
mercurius
GoHurdler1 and list.Thank you for your help and advice.Having done some further research, I think I may well go for the MZ RH910, since this will enable me to record and upload interviews to the PC for my primary purpose. Also it will allow me to record music to keep me entertained.Next question is which mic? I suppose I'll have to ask that in the live recording forum.Regards, mercurius
Andicillo
It's a very good Choice... eventually ANY Hi-MD recorder will allow you to record with EXCELLENT quality and upload your recordings to your PC. Anyway, buy that pack with microphone included...
