NW-A1000/3000 Firmware Update 1.01

A new firmware update for the NW-A1000/3000 is available as of December 9, 2005 from Sony Japan. The firmware update is of version 1.01 and amount to approximately 3.2MB.

Minor fix to the Walkman A Series device:

- rectify a problem when the NW-A1000/3000 is used as a removable media to transfer/copy filenames or folders that are composed of alphanumeric characters.

I updated mine (wich is a jap model). I guess there is no problem in using this file. When I used it, French was diplayed. It seems that SONY don't use any limited regional applications.

The installation is a bit unusual but it's automatic.

I guess this is just to fix a file letter issue for japanese people when using files not written in Japanese. That's maybe why they don't provide it on Euro sites.

Anyway, I was excited, but desapointed then... hope it was the beginnig of something cool! I'm tired of waiting. Japan is REALLY the country of patience...

Indeed, WMA support should follow with the next firmware update; hopefully sometime before Christmas. If you recall: the VAIO Pocket's last firmware was released just before Christmas day last year. Perhaps, we will see the same trend with the A series? :ol_smile:
