Hello there

I recently had problems with my sony nh900, so Sony gave me a nh800(fm am) slightly beat up. I was told i had until Friday to make up my mind if i want to keep it or get another unit. The unit they gave me is in fair condition(scratches) my previous unit was in Mint condition. So should i ask for the mz rh10. And i have a couple of questions on Features of that unit too.

I heard u can't record line in md lp, but can u record mdlp in simple burner?

Anyways let me know what you think.

That's correct -- the MZ-RH10 doesn't allow recording in old MDLP modes via the unit; it must be done via Sonicstage or Simple Burner. Is the MZ-RH10 a good choice? Definitely, if you don't need to record MDLP/etc in realtime.

Strange how they gave you a loaner unit, is that common practice? :P

As Chris says if you can live with LP2 backwards compatibility-wise and don't need to record to old skool SP via optical-in, real-time then I'd send back the beat-up loaner and go for the RH10. The only thing you'll miss is the HD digital amp from the NH900 but to be honest what you'd gain probably outweighs this. Maybe worth asking them if they have any NH1's instead of the RH10.
