konvertore
Hi there,I just purchase an MZ-RH10 not long ago, it's my first MD, and i'm totally excited. mostly be using it for recording.however, what I am not excited about is the sonicstage software. i think it ruined my 3 Hi-MD discs, rendering them unreadable. I tried re-initializing them through the software, but it doesn't let up.what's worse, i probably did a no-no - i formatted the discs through windows, hoping it would 'flush' out the files on the disc. which worked by the way. but after that operation, i've tried to initialize the same disc through sonicstage, and i always get errors.reading this forum, it sounds like everyone is having all sorts of problems. my problem is as frustrating as anyone else's, but i hope to get some insight. i don't want to resort to thrashing my 3 MD discs because of a ill designed piece of software.cheers
Syrius
If you used the software included with the unit (SS 2.3 or 3.0) it's no wonder you're having so many problems. Get SS 3.2 from Sony or this place's download section, and give it a whirl.HOWEVER, your problems sound more like a faulty recording block, or a really bad batch of discs. Hope you still have a warranty.
konvertore
i downloaded 3.2, and the problem seems to have been fairly rectified, but not completly alleviated. i managed to transfer my recordings to the pc, but sometimes during a transfer, i get an error message (sorry the exact error script escapes me, but i've seen it reported on the boards here, so it ain't a novel thing). furthermore, i'm uploading some mp3s to the disc, complete folders of albums, and sometimes the file transfer isn't smooth and i received a "could not transfer the following files:" message error. so i exit sonicstage, then retransfer the remaining files, and sometimes, the remaining files upload to the disc without a hitch.if i knew sonicstage was such a temperamental piece of software (and the only bridge between MD and PC? unbelievable.), i might've opted for another recording device other than this./ mixed feelings about MDedit: wanted to mention: the transferring error i receive during downloading or uploading is the "Omgjbox.exe" error message, which forces you to quit the program. i just got that message while writing up, well, my message above. /pun indeed intended Edited October 19, 2005 by konvertore
