Guest bmn38
Due to the amazing specials in Australia at the moment on the Sony MD range, I'm going to fork out a bit and pick up a couple units. However, I have some questions... I want a unit to use for recordings (live classical and choral music), to use as a walkman (my mp3 player isn't gapless) and to store data. I'm a bit of an audiophile, so quality is important. Ok, so I need Hi-MD recorder.... BUT which one do I get? I am choosing between the NH1 and the NH900.... I'm leaning towards the NH900, but i've heard reports of them playing up and causing more problems than they're worth. I've had problems with a Sharp unit in the past. I prefer the look of the NH1, but the NH900 seems more functional from the main unit. I'm also looking at getting the NHF800 for my Mum cause she wants an MP3 player with radio and this is a cheap and looks quite good... I also like the way it uses AA's. How does this player perform both as an MD unit and as a radio? Thanks...
The Low Volta
too be plainly honest, I don't think there has been one HiMD model without any problems (except maybe for the lowest end models NH600/RH710 and the RH910) from all other models bugs are knownso in no other order than most recent+high end -> older+low end (so not judging)- RH10: MP3 playback bugged, scratches easily, titling error, faulty buttonfunctions- NH1: recently quite some issues with dropping out while recording, expensive to replace proprietary parts- NH900: editing bug (maybe also present on other models, dunno), faulty buttonfunctions- NH700/800: vulnerable selecting-wheel-thingy, (possibly the same editing bug)besides this all HiMD suffer from the "editing before uploading causes crashes" bugso, just choose the one you like most, but beware of the existing issues... no technology is perfect...ever! bobt
Personally I would go NH1, or NH900, 800 not a bad choice either.Happy trails,Bob
Syrius
I never had a problem with my NHF800, so I can recommend it. Haven't enjoyed my 900 long enough, though.
