blackbeard
Hi there,I saw this problem in another thread but it wasn't resolved. When I try to import a CD (have tried a number of different CDs) using SonicStage I get the error message "Cannot read from this CD". I can, however, rip the CD using Mediaplayer, add the files to the library, and then transfer them. Obviously it would be easier without having to go through all this every time. Sometimes I can import just one track individually (by unselecting all the others), but get the same time when I try it with the next track; sometimes even one track is not possible System specs:Windows XP SP2Sonicstage 3.2not sure about codec packs (but as I say, Media Player has no objections)Pentium 4 2.5ghz256m RAMAvast anti-virus runningThanks

Do the cd's in question have copy protection? - If they do you will have to use Simple Burner rather than Sonic Stage to get them on to you MD. Only one of them was copy protected, and a different error message came up when I tried that one (something like "Cannot copy this CD" rather than "Cannot read this CD"). Can you rip using Simple Burner? It could be the firmware / drivers for your cd drive - try updating these to the latest version. Also make sure there is enough free disk space on the drive for SS to store it's temporary files. Some people have also reported problems upgrading to SS 3.2 and then applying XP SP2 afterwards. In these cases it has been known that re-installing SS after having applied SP2 can resolve the issue.
