I think the photo showing MP3 filenames on the remote is probably misleading.Here is the translation from Google:Simultaneously MZ-NH1 besides supports high quality sound compression technology ATRAC3plus which Sony is in sole possession of, but also supports the MP3 form. After forwards as an enclosure the application software " Sonic Stage Ver.3.0 " reads takes the MP3 document, does not transform the ATRAC3plus form, but is the direct transmission.
