I am currently studying at the University of Manchester and am studying the Mini-disc Market as part of a course assignment.

I was wondering if you had any idea of sales figures globally for mini-disc players/recorders, whether by number of units sold or value of the market? Also I would be interested to know a rough idea of how this market breaks down in terms either of national trends (I believe that Japan is quite a large market for mindisc) and/or in terms of professional users compared to domestic users.

Any information you have, or any pointers towards where my search may be better conducted would be grateuflly received.

Any information have to come from "reliable", i.e. quotable, sources such as FT, Sony themselves.
