RobA
Where can I find a remote for the MZ-NH600D? Any with backlit LCDs?
KrazyIvan
[shameless plug] I am selling a RM-MC33EL on eBay. I used to use it with my 600D all the time. [/shameless plug]
RobA
Alright, I'll look into that remote, any other suggestions appreciated.edit-This page http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_RM-MC33EL.html doesn't have the 600d on the list as compatible, are you sure it will work? KrazyIvan
Look into the RM-MC40ELK also. Honestly it is probably the best one to use with Hi-MD because it has that 3 line display. The page you are referencing was probably made before the NH600D existed and has not been updated. I am positive it worked with it. I had two of them. Edited October 31, 2005 by KrazyIvan
RobA
Thanks, I'll look into them both. I'm lovin my 600D so I'm working on adding stuff to it to use it to its fullest extent.
tommypeters
It's correct. We have three NH600 with RM-MC33EL, RM-MC35EL and RM-MC40ELK respectively. All work fine, the 40ELK of course best but is in a different price category (same price as I paid for a NH600). For the 600 there are no important differences between the 33EL and 35EL. RobA
On the RM-MC33EL how do you flip through your songs?
KrazyIvan
I usually use the >>| or |<< buttons to go through the tracks or you can use the group "+" or "-" buttons to skip through groups.
tommypeters
The 40ELK has an advantage there, you can browse through your groups/tracks while listening and it doesn't skip to another track until you actually "say" so. With other remotes it will immediately quit playing the current track, jump to the selected group, jump to the next track... So you can't just "look around" at what you have on your disc without the 40ELK.

Anyone know a place to get it at a good price (besides ebay)? So far, everywhere I looked has the price higher than my player itself. KrazyIvan
Usually the best price is going to be found on eBay. You could try doing some searches on Froogle.
tommypeters
I bought my 40ELK on eBay. It was repeatedly going for $70USD including shipping, which is more than I paid for my NH600, but I waited patiently and finally got it for just over $50USD (new). (I only bought off it twice, both times got ripped off.)
tommypeters
No, store prices are crazy... Minidisc.au sell the 40ELK for over AUD140, add 50% more to that price and they will throw in a MZ-NH1 Hi-MD, a Sony microphone, 10 MD's, a player case and a ATRAC CD... Actually among the most expensive, but very reliable. If you can't wait for an occasion when it can be found cheaper in an auction you can buy it there. If you can wait, try the auctions from reliable Power Sellers on eBay. I bought from Rapidelectronics (Australia) and while most went for almost $70USD I got mine for a bit over 50. As I said twice, No Ebay! I don't care how reliable they are, I no longer trust the site in general. I found a site that has it for 80 bucks off froogle. Just an FYI, this will be a xmas gift.
