granbajo
Hello, I just received a new NW-A3000, and I haven't been able to install the software from the CD. It seems that the Wizard window is too small. Basicaly I am not able to accept the Licence Agreement... so I can not continue with the installation (see attached file). I have tried all sorts of key combinations but nothing seems to work... any ideas? The link I found in this forum for the latest version seems to be broken as well. I have Sonic Stage 3.2 installed because I also have an HD3... I may use it in the meantime... well, if I cannot play gapless with the other one I may stick with anyway!Carlos
Ascariss
Have you tried using the tab key to switch the selected areas, for the yes and no? pressing space to select it?Then once next can be clicked, install it?
imagine_
Have you tried scrolling to the bottom of the license agreement? This should enable the "continue button".
granbajo
Thanks guys... I have scrolled down to the end of the agreement either with the mouse or the page down key, but it doesn't let me tab into the radio button section. The reason I know there is a radio button section below is because I have seen an "installation guide" somewhere on the web, and the Window is just that bit biger. Because the dialog is not resizable, I can not expand it to see the rest!Following the instructins for a manual install from the web somewhere else... I did the same, and I managed to install it, but it didn't run, it said that I needed to upgrade the OMG driver to 4.3, pressumably what's in the CD. I am backing up my library at the moment, and I will try to re-install everything again. If it works, I will post the procedure.Carlos
granbajo
I managed to install the whole thing manually following the details on the installation ini file in the CD, but... the region is Japan!!! Anybody knows how to change the region once it has been installed? I will play around to try to find out how, and if not I will remove and try to install it again.Carlos
C_player
Anybody knows how to change the region once it has been installed? ←Carlos,You can only change regions and languages by re-installing the player software. There are many different things that appear to be changed, so a simple switch in the player isn't possible.
Ascariss
Hmm look for a file on the cd called msi installer language pack or something of that nature, that determines the language, click that and choose english. It is one option other than reinstall.

There are many different things that appear to be changed, so a simple switch in the player isn't possible. That explains the funny behaviour... everything else except for the connect shop looks OK though. Having said that, I have tried connecting the walkman to Connect Player, and is slow as hell, and I have also tried to rip a single CD and I haven't managed to do it without any glitches... so I think I am sticking with SonicStage despite the fact that I will be loosing a couple of features from the A3000... hopefully Sony will release version 2 soon!Carlos
granbajo
After having the A3000 for a while, I got annoyed that I couldn't use the new features... so I came back to try the installatin of Connect Player once again. By playing around with the tab and up and down arrow keys, I was able to tab into the "accept this licence agreement" section, and eventually the next button was enabled. It would be handy if someone that has a computer where the installer works as designed, could post the key sequence to enable the next button. WOW!!! The player is slow as hell for bulk imports, but you can rent a movie while you wait for the PC to finish the work!!! ... but it opens a whole new game with the walkman!!! Don't give up on the CP, I guess the benefits outgrow the limitations of the player. Transfering one CD at the time is not much worse than SS... The one thing I am still waiting to see is how it reacts when you connect a walkman with 3000+ songs. At the moment I am transfering all the data that O had in SS (3000+ songs), which took about 40 minutes in SS... it took about 1 hour to import into CP, and is taken 1:30 hrs to transfer 2500+ songs... I say about 30 more minutes or so and I will be ready. It would have been nice for the player to have some sort of progress indicator... It looks as if the program hung, I know it is progressing because I can count the number of files in the walkman and see that one grwoing constantly.Carlos
C_player
Yes, things are slow right now. But fixes keep showing up about once a month or so. I think things are getting better little by little.I can tell you that once you get in the 3000 track range, it will be very slow. Somewhere around 3K is where the player goes from usable to "yawn" while you wait for it to load up and be useful. So staying below that track number (2K works OK) is advised.
