thermo
Can someone explain for me, I can't find the answer for looking. I downloaded the wav conversion tool from the link on your 'uploading with hi-md' page and installed it. I closed Simple burner on task bar (sonic stage 3.2 is installed, there is no icon on the task bar to exit ss3.2) and when I try to open wav conv tool icon on desktop it directs me to the Sony Connect player link online. Is there somewhere I'm supposed to turn off ss3.2 as well?ps: haven't downloaded ss3.3 yet. (I'm hoping there might be a standalone download at some point like for 3.2!!?) dex Otaku
If you're using SS 3.2, there's no need for the WAV conversion tool.Go to your library, select a track uploaded from HiMD, right-click it, and select "Convert to WAV format" from the context menu. I select multiple tracks, usually an album or two. As I then rip them to MP3.
thermo
Ok ..thanks for pointing that out . But the sony connect player/mp3 conversion tool has the same problem. Back tracking, I see you're supposed to log on as administrator or power user for these standalone programs(?). When I downloaded the sony connect player it gave me the mp3 conversion tool shortcut on the desktop. As I say, it won't lauch either. I'm still confused. Chances are, unless you specifically set up your user account to not be an admin, it's an admin.I'm confused about what version you're actually running, so please - open SS. Go to the help menu, click "about sonicstage" and tell us what the version numbers are that it's listing. My SS 3.3 installation comes up with the following list, to give an idea of what you're looking for there [you can copy/paste from the about window]SonicStage : 3.3.02.10240SonicStage Add-on for CONNECT Download : 3.3.00.09270OpenMG Secure Module : 4.3.00.08302MagicGate Memory Stick Device : 4.3.00.08302NW-E2, NW-E3, NW-E5 and NW-E8P : 4.3.00.08302OpenMG CD : 4.3.00.08302M.S. They don't do anything? The prog doesn't complain about your account not being an admin, or give an error, or anything? Nothing happens?More information would be helpful for us to help you. Also, this thread clearly belongs in the Software Support area - try reading the posting guidelines in that forum, and come back to us. Thanks. thermo
I have ss3.2(sonic stage 3.2 is installed, there is no icon on the task bar to exit ss3.2) More info...SonicStage : 3.2.00.06071SonicStage Add-on for Personal Audio Upgrade : 3.2.00.06030OpenMG Secure Module : 4.2.00.06070MagicGate Memory Stick Device : 4.2.00.06070NW-E2, NW-E3, NW-E5 and NW-E8P : 4.2.00.06070OpenMG CD : 4.2.00.06070M.S. ( from ss3.0 on the conv tool is inbuilt?) (I downloaded this from the wav conv link on Kurisu's 'A Guide To Hi-MD Uploading' page by the way) But as you say I can use ss3.2 anyway. Sony Connect I downloaded from http://musicstore.connect.com/mb_us/IESignup.flowI presumed it was a media player for buying music online. But the installer places desktop icon saying 'Sony MP3 Conversion Tool' which links back to the online sony connect download. So I'm none the wiser there. Christopher
Convert everything through Sonicstage -- simple as that. Do not try and do this process with other programs such as the wav conversion tool or the mp3 conversion tool. Your changing directions here, so let's make sure we're all on the same page. Are you trying to convert something you recorded live with your Hi-MD unit, or are you trying to convert your mp3's into ATRAC files? If so, this can all be done via Sonicstage. I recommend reading the help documentation within the program, it can definitely assist you through either process.
thermo
Hi Kurisuthanks but everything's under control. I have established that wav conversion tool is only for less than ss3.2.I got wrong end of stick when read your 'A Guide To Hi-MD Uploading'. Just recently bought one of those mz-nh900's from minidiscAustralia. Great buy, great recorder, well pleased. So I went to 'A Guide To Hi-MD Uploading' for run down on recording. The remaining question, (on connect player download) is another topic as you say, (but since I'm here) I did find out it's on site here as an add-in for the ss3.2 and ss3.3 Full Installers which don't have it included. Also off-topic ...butthanks MDCF for the ss3.3 FullInstaller ...much appreciated! From the HiMD uploading FAQ:Get Wave Converter from Sony here:---> [link in original thread]Note that Wave Converter is no longer necessary if you are running Sonicstage versions >3.0, as WAV conversion is now built-in.You didn't get the wrong end of the stick. You just didn't read it fully.Glad to hear things are working now.Cheers.
