amateur
Hello to all, perhaps somebody could help on a problem I have with my NH700:I recorded a session of our chorus with my Hi-Md. Everything worked fine. I had a good recording. But unfortunately I did not switch off the option "set marker on silence" while recording. So I had more than 40 markers in the session. I started to delete them and it first worked fine. But after say, 20 deletes the NH700 produced a write error failure. I stopped and it could not write to TOC. Finally the recording was truncated and even worse I could not transfer it to the PC with SonicStage anymore. SS said something like "unkown format".I am still able to listen to the first part of the recording but after 20 minutes it stops with a read error. Is there any tool to recover the whole recording or can I forget it?Thanks for any hintsplease apologize my englishamateur
The Low Volta
hi and welcome to MDCF,I'm very sorry to hear about this problem... but alas it seems there still is no way to recover disc errorsfor future use:- editing on the machine is still pretty buggy... if you want to upload to PC afterwards, just forget about editing on the recorder at all and do all editing on PC afterwards (with the free audacity for example)- if you don't need to upload, and want to edit on the machine, make sure you save a lot inbetween (by pressing stop and letting the recorder write things to the toc)search for a pinned post by dex Otaku (called "the one safe way of uploading" or something, sorry, I don't recall correctly) in the live recording section which explains the safest way of uploading recordings
ynos
But unfortunately I did not switch off the option "set marker on silence" while recording. What do you mean "set marker on silence"? Do you mean you can turn off the automatic creation of trackmarks?
dex Otaku
On the NH700 there is no option for auto-marking on silence when recording through the mic input. There is also no option to -disable- auto trackmarking when using the line input. danielbb90
could this be anything to do with battery power?
lamewing
could this be anything to do with battery power?THis happened on my NH900s with full batteries and the AA battery pack attached. It is just a screw-up in the design.
amateur
What do you mean "set marker on silence"? Do you mean you can turn off the automatic creation of trackmarks?I looked in the manual and you are rigth: Time marks cannot be set by silence but every 5 minutes or more or less. This can be configured and as of the manual also switched off.So next recording I will switch it off
