Jenni
I think I'm going to need an external hard drive as I'm not the only person storing stuff on the home pc. I don't think I'll go for anything with less than 50GB.Has anyone here got one?I'd appreciate anybodies opinion of best / worst / general views,Thanks. Ascariss
Currently I am using an external drive from Western Digital, 80 gigs. It is AC powered with USB 2.0 and transfer rate is quite fast. Setup was a breeze and the drive powers down when not in use after some period of time, 10 or 30 minutes or even an hour, never really checked. It never gets hots and it is quite and I can't hear it all when it is working, can't say the same for my internal drive. lolOne point of advice, go with brand name for the external drive, since you don't want it crashing on you. I am planning on picking up a 160 gig WD external in additon to the 80 gig I already have.

Ishiyoshi
I employ four Western Digital 160GB HDD using Macally's external 3.5" HDD USB 2.0. Just install the HDD in question into the external enclosure and connect it to your system. It’s that simple. You do not need to configure WinXP to recognize the drive.
