NWA3000 - Change First Song Played?

Rate this question

Question

Hey,

I've had my NWA 3000 for a few days now - real nice. But there's one annoying thing! WHen I switch my player on after I shut it down (through Option > Shut Down), when I switch it back on it automatically plays the first song in my music library (alphabetically, it's called Abracadabra).

How do I stop it from doing this? It's annoying because the player registers this song as being my most played song and so is #1 in the 'Top 100' menu!

Thanks in advance :ol_rolleyes:

EDIT: The iPod/iTunes only registers a song as being played once it reaches the end of the song. Unfortunately the Walkman registers a song as being played even if it's been played for a fraction of a second :ol_sad:

Odd, this has never happened to me, and everytime I go to start up the player again, it plays the last song I was listening to, and from the same point I ended the song as well.

One question, can you tell me the play mode you are listening to, the type of files on the device, the amount of files, how they are arranged, ie did you fill in all the info for the id tag, and etc. Be as specific as possible.

Hi,

Apologies, it doesn't do this through the Option > Shut Down function. It only happens after I plug the player to my PC, let it 'Connect', unplug it, and then turn it on again when it switches itself off after "Creating Library".

All my files are MP3 except a few CDs I have ripped which are OMA. Right now I have only 421 files on my player (I'm slowly getting through everything in-between going out and doing work). ALL my songs are fully filled in tag-wise. I make sure of that, because I hate seeing "unknown" on MP3 players. Play mode is irrelevant I suppose, seeing as this happens only after disconnecting the player from the PC.

I haven't arranged the songs in any way, it's arranged everything for me. All I do it fill that tags in and it sorts itself out :)

Thanks :D

Ok, that makes more sense. The player when connected to the PC usually gathers info from CP to update the play history and as well the fav 100 I believe.

I have the same problem everytime I plug it into the PC to transfer songs over, but I only do that when I need to add new songs.

Once you disconnect the device, the library should be created right off the bat and not when you turn it on again. I don't think you can change it from playing the first song over and over again everytime you update the player. If it adds the song as being played all the time, I guess the only option is to remove that song, if you don't like it that is.

I for some reason don't have this problem, so I am not sure why it is happening to you.

I always listen using shuffle all songs, so I've never had this occur. Anyone else experience this?

Yeah it does return straight to the first track, but on mine it doesnt play its just paused on it.

So if it turns on instead of turning it on by pressing play or pause i turn it on by pressing option, cause then it just turns on normally but doesnt play, and doesnt bring up the option menu or anything its just normal. try it maybe?

I've seen this happening too, and like the topic starter, would like to stop it. It adds a play count at the start, unlike what the other guy said about it needing at least 15 seconds becasue when I look at top 100 it has one of my favourite songs and below it will be the song that follows it in the library. This is happening because I am waiting for the song to end and then selecting another and this means that the next song plays for a few seconds first and it gets added.

If anyone can work out how to make the play counts come at the end of a song and also how to stop the first song in the library from playing at start up then please help! In the mean time I'll be taking a look.

A song has to be played for at least 15sec to have an effect on the playcount/top100

It's written somewhere in the manual..

would that be why i get what happens here http://www.atraclife.com/index.php?showtop...findpost&p=5515

with the playlist never ending?

some how i think what sublime said isn't right because my first song, Adagio for Strings, is #1 on my Top 100 list....
