atrain
i'm afraid your md player only records in real time. the usb thing offers a digital signal. sonicstage software will only run on netmd & himd models prefixed N,M,RH & Dprefixes 'R' are for real time only recording models. A440
The MZ-R700 is a good solid recorder for mic recording--try it with that sometime.
akijikan
You got a really really good deal at $15. Real time recording's not that bad, just set up a playlist on the computer and hook that pc-link up and put the MD in Sync record, and let it go while you do other stuff. akijikan
It won't record as one long track as long as you put 2 seconds pause between every song.Leaf - the PC-Link lets you play an audio signal through USB that is then converted to digital input for the MD recorder. It's most likely a SONY-badged Xitel MDPORT-DG2.
