atawley
Can anyone help. The lid of my MZ-NH900 will not open. The Sony website suggests removing the battery for 30 seconds but that has not worked.I've no idea what caused the problem. One day it was working and the next day it wasn't. When I slide the open button the lid does not budge but it starts to play the disc that is stuck in there. Everything else seems to be working fine. KrazyIvan
The system will lock the lid if there was a power loss while recording IIRC. The unit plays so maybe that's not it. Maybe if you try to transfer something to it or record and let it do a TOC save then it will release the lid lock. I am grasping here but may be worth a shot. atawley
Thanks for replying. Unfortunately this did not work. I have made a couple of recordings and allowed the system file writing to complete but it still won't open. greenmachine
Does it still make that particular door lock noise when you set it to rec-pause or stop afterwards?
atawley
Does it still make that particular door lock noise when you set it to rec-pause or stop afterwards?I am not 100% sure what the "particular door look noise" is but yes I think it does. It also makes a click as if something is being released when I slide the button toward "open" but nothing moves.
Shozzer
What about connecting to SonicStage and then when it has read the contents of the desk disconnect and see if that allows the cover to open?
atawley
Sorry, tried that one too. At different times I have tried both copying to and from the disc. I have made two lenthgy recordings which are perfect and have trasferred them to the computer using SonicStage 3.4. All worked perfectly.
