Sonicstage 3.3 introduced 352kb/s, sonicstage 3.4 introduced 192kb/s for HI MD transfer but the question is,

Out of the 4 remaining atrac3plus bitrates not available for HI MD tranfer, which would you most like to see introduced into sonicstage 3.5. (If you could only choose one)

In all honesty, having tried both 352 and 192kbps and found both to be "just fine" .. my only real request would be more modes that you can *record* in.

btw, after prelim evaluation of 192kbps, I can still hear a bit of the same kind of "granular" kind of "sound sifted through holes and become particulate rather than solid" thing as I hear with LP2 .. but that's only on pretty extreme passages in music .. so in the future I will likely be using 192kbps for most portable listening rather than 256kbps. I can handle the slight loss when the gain in time per disc is taken into account.

I'd like 128 and 352kbps (and a lossless compression if possible) to be added for recording, while i'd prefer an 'intelligent' vbr codec (like l.a.m.e. mp3) if i'd be using MD for listening so that i could choose a constant quality instead of having to worry about using constant bitrates effectively. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be wrong if they filled the gaps with support for the remaining A3+ bitrates.

I would like the ability to convert CD's to Hi-MD with the current new bitrates (along with ATRAC3/132) from Simple Burner. I figured SB and SS use the same libraries, but if they do, the same bitrates are not available to both pieces of software...

I would like to see the 192kbps for recording on unit. It would be a great compromise for space/quality for recording in Hi-MD mode.
