Ok I bought a Sony MZ-S1 off ebay for work. I work in Radio, and I recorded people saying things for my show. Now that I recorded everything, I can’t get it off because SonicStage does not allow you to transfer things from my MiniDisk recorder to my desktop. Is there any software that will allow me to do this, I need some help. Never had one of these before. Thanks.

I have bad news my friend. You have purchased a Net MD which allows you to download from your PC to MD but not from MD to PC. Only HI-MD models offer the ability to transfer both ways. The only way of getting the recordings into a PC with your MD is to connect to the PC using the headphone socket and line in and play the recordings whilst recording simultaneously - look at the FAQs for more information. If it is any consolation I made the same error when I bought my first MD.

Ok from my last comment I was told that my stupid Sony MZ-S1 does not allow me to download to my PC. So now I am looking for a HI-MD. Does anyone here have one they would not mind selling. Of course I want it in good working condition where out of the box I can use it. I don’t have a huge budget because I work in radio (inside joke) but if someone can help out a brotha I would be grateful. I am also willing to throw in a Sony MZ-S1 for maybe a discount or trade.

Just to be complete and save you from another deception, even with a Hi-MD recorder, you won't be able to get the recordings you made with the MZ-S1 to your PC through USB. It only allows uploading of recordings made on a Hi-MD machine.

So it will work with any new recordings you will make, but those old ones can only be done through so called real-time uploading (dubbing, re-recording, whatever you want to call it).
