So, PSPs

I had my finger hovering over 'confirm order' with a PSP giga pack and 3 games at Gameplay the other day and them thought 'I haven't really looked at the other games' - there doesn't seem to be too many so is the PSP really worth the £300 I'll have to shell out for it and some games?

I only encode in AVC mode; and my settings or rather encoding profile within PSP Video 9 is: AVC/368x208/29.97fps/768kbps Stereo/128kbps/2-pass.

It depends. I alternate between a few 1GB or 2GB MS Pro Duo.

hmm I would really like to know what the hdd pack add-on thing is like with the psp, I mean at the price of the memory cards, you might as well get the add-on.

Just out of curiosity, when do you watch films on ur psp? I mean I guess yeah for when ur on the aeroplane, you could watch a film, but it would bug me if I only had 2 films to choose from. I wonder when those bigger mem sticks will be out and what sort of price they'l be.

cheers for the links, although wouldnt the 8gb flash card consume less battery power than running an HDD??, i mean if you didnt want to carry the extra bulk and all.

Yes, usually in-flight or over long train trips.

Yes, I am pretty sure it does. The higher capacity PSP-280 battery is a necessary addition to your PSP should you use it for such purpose - watching videos.

Ishi, do you notice a difference between the 2-pass and 1-pass version of this profile? As I understood it, that's a CBR profile (no quality setting, just bitrate) so 2-pass shouldn't improve things any.

The difference is minimal at my end (original source: DVD).

im not a 'real user' but i would get it anyway, even if to just use it for video playback, there will be more games out there.

If you get the JP version from audiocubes, its region free on the games, so you can get more games from the states etc.

I think psp is still worth..my friend got PSP recently. Games are really great ..now i`m aslo eager to buy it
