rixth
Okay,Well at first, Connect was TOTALLY unusable. So what I did was:Imported all my mp3s into SonicStage (3.3) & converted them into ATRAC3 there.Closed SonicStage.Went to he location where SonicStage stores the .oma files.Opened Connect (with an empty library).Opened the transfer pane.Dragged all my .oma files from Windows Explorer onto the transfer paneConnect went through, added them to my library & transferred them to my player without a hitch! The software stayed responsive the whole way through too! I'm just about to turn the player on & see if I can use the intelligent shuffle stuff, etc etc.Tom. rixth
Apart from the fact that it has FORGOTTEN THE STINKING YEAR. This solution would be perfect if it wasn't for this.... Its weird though, because the OMA files from SonicStage have the year.We (as in walkman owners/connect users) need to mobilze and actually do something planned, rather than just sporadic emails to Sony. sh33p
wait. songs can be dragged and dropped into the CONNECT library?I think there have been reports of songs losing tag information as they're transferred from ss to cp. That's why I prefer to have all my tracks in mp3 so I can open them with WMP for easy (and often automatic) tag updating and then import them into the CP library. Having all my songs in mp3 also means I can use GYM, because it doesn't support atrac.
Ascariss
I believe it was mentioned someplace that yes songs can be dragged and dropped into the library in CP, as can playlists maybe but album art can be for 100%.
C_player
Let's see what you can do with drag & drop....- Individual songs? Check.- Folders of songs? Check.- Album artwork onto the song info area? Check.- Playlists (m3u)? Check. You can drag these into (almost) any area of the player:- Into the library- Into the device- Into a playlist- Into the CD burn view- Into the now playing queueSo, it looks like you can drag & drop a lot of stuff to a lot of places if you want to. willykyu
The problem in drag n drop and import is that Connect doesn't import all the content droped... I mean, when I try to drag and drop folders with albums, connect import half (or less) of the songs. I then have to do that one by one... it takes forever, with no clear info of the progress. Then I have to check if all the songs are properly imported... pretty annoying. Of course, I also have the "year info" problem. only "1" appears... And connect is the slowest program of all. Takes about 3 or 4 minutes after launching to be usable, and then , it usually freezes for 30 sec when you do something. I have more than 3000 titles in it, and I guess the more you have, the worst it is, espesially if it's imported songs and atrac... I stick to the minimum of use, meaning I only transfer music (wich is very long) and that's all.
