allegate
I must say this is the first problem I've had with 3.4 since installling it. The more I use the software, the more I like it. For one, it's the only program I've used so far that organizes albums the exact way I like to see them - by artist, in order of release. anyway, here's the problem. When I try to rip the Sufjan Stevens album "Come on Feel the Illinoise!" it imports the first track and gives me two error screens (both are attached). What are these errors? Is it because the track titles are so long? or is it something else?[attachmentid=1581] [attachmentid=1582]
metal
Is this a copy protected CD?Try use other ripping programs like EAC or use Simple Burner instead.
allegate
It's not copy-protected as I can rip it in cdex and iTunes easily. I'll try Simple Burner and see what happens. If nothing else, I'll just have to use the mp3's and have the program convert for me. Still strange, though.
metal
The fact that the CD can be ripped by iTunes is not conclusive enough to indicate the CD is not copy-protected. I have several EMI/Virgin European CDs that can be ripped by iTunes but not by SS. I found SB can handle such CDs much better than SS.For better quality, you may want to rip the CD to wav to your HDD and convert them to ATRAC. allegate
I just went with the mp3's because that was easiest for me. Thanks for the help.
allegate
Figured it out: it was the track titles. See below:1. Concerning The UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois 2. Come On! Feel The Illinoise!: Part I: The World's Columbian Exposition/Part II: Carl Sandburg Visits Me In A Dream 4. John Wayne Gacy, Jr. 5. Jacksonville 6. Casimir Pulaski Day 11. To The Workers Of The Rock River Valley Region, I Have An Idea Concerning Your Predicament 12. The Man Of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts 13. Prairie Fire That Wanders About 14. A Conjunction Of Drones Simulating The Way In Which Sufjan Stevens Has An Existential Crisis In The Great Godfrey Maze 15. The Predatory Wasp Of The Palisades Is Out To Get Us! 16. They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back From The Dead!! Ahhhh! 17. Let's Hear That String Part Again, Because I Don't Think They Heard It All The Way Out In Bushnell 18. Riffs And Variations On A Single Note For Jelly Roll, Earl Hines, Louis Armstrong, Baby Dodds, And The King Of Swing, To Name A Few 22. Out Of Egypt, Into The Great Laugh Of Mankind, And I Shake The Dirt From My Sandals As I RunThere is a 250 character limit on file names (found this out when trying to import the mp3's into SS). So, I just cut the names down to something a little more manageable and voila, the CD imported. and no, I don't know why the titles are so long.
