Net MD and NWA1000 - Help Required

Hi Folks,

I recently gave a Net MD player to a friend and he is having a few problems. His partner has just bought a Sony NWA1000, and the two don't seem to work well together.

The NetMd works fine with OpenMG v2.2, but the software for the A1000 won't install until OpenMG has been uninstalled, and then the software for the A1000 doesn't recognise the NetMD.

He said the software for the A1000 is called Connect - I thought that was the online store? Is the software actually SonicStage? If so, I thought that would work fine with the NetMD?

He doesn't have an internet connection at home - could that be the problem? If so, do I just download the drivers from here and give them to him on a disc?

Is it fairly easy to have both Net MD and the A1000 connect to the same software on the PC? Or are there more serious compatibility issues between the two?

I've tried to read through the FAQ's and stuff, but not knowing the exact error messages and stuff I'm not quite sure what to look for.

Thanks in advance your help!

Thanks mate

If Connect can't be used with the NetMD, why does it prevent OpenMG running?

I know that SonicStage is newer than OpenMG, but as there's no internet connection it's not an option at present.

Is there any way to have both OpenMG and Connect on the same computer?

I don't think there's actually anyone out here that still uses openMG... I could be wrong though

...but as you are posting this, you do have A connection to the net... so just download the SS3.4 full installer which won't need a connection for the installation (in the downloads section) and take it with you on a USB stick or something
