hi-md back in the shops

I've just seen an MZ-RH710 for sale in Dixons in Leeds. Priced at £99.98. I asked the assistant if they were planning to stock the RH1, but he didn't know.

Maybe Sony are trying to push the technology again.

I have seen the occasional MD unit in Dixons. I don't like the retailer at all but sometimes go in to ogle the audio equipment :-). It's hardly a bargain price for the RH710.

Still, it's good a few places still have them.

I looked in Dixons and It's a clearance item. They are just getting rid of the last hi-md units in stock.

There's no point in asking an assistant in Dixons anything.

A while back I went into Currys (their sister shop) to buy a pair of EX71 earphones. There were none on display so I asked an assistant if they had any. She said they had some according to their computer so she spent about 15 minutes searching for them in the stockroom. She came back and said the computer must be wrong. I asked if she could order them for me and she said she couldn't as the computer ordered all their stock.

I did point out to her that the computer might conceivably never order EX71s again as it would always believe they were in stock, but i don't think she could really grasp what I was getting at.
