Sony Connect Player software update due end January

Question

After speaking to some of my contacts at Sony I can confirm that another update for Sony Connect Player is scheduled for the end of January.

I don't have a full list of changes for the update but one of the features that looks likely to make the release is more informative status messages to let the user know that Connect is actually doing stuff rather than hanging. I think this will be useful as I'm sure many people are terminating the program while it's still working and so corrupting their song database.

Other software updates are scheduled after the January update but I have no information as to the content or the expected release dates. As soon as I get information it will be posted here.

Hopefully it will solve the high processor and memory usage too, without tackling this problem anything else is a waste of time imho

Well, that's a good thing. Hopefully there will also be some major bugs fixes, and I'll be able to rip a jap CD correctly on my French Windows XP... and most of all, the possibility to change album properties, and scroll menus of previously entered infos... we still have hope... it can't be worse than today!

It should be a hope, it has to be a must.

Lets's hope Sony see sense, realise that releasing something potentially more bug ridden that what we currently have could be very bad for buisness, and realise there is a team of willing beta testers here, who are ready to feedback constructive and helpfull bug reports...., if only they were given the chance.

As a Sony fan I hate to say it, but until now I've never experienced that a product (an it's software) was this kind of rubbish..........

Sorry Sony, but you actually would have to pay us all as beta testers.

An then that big 20 hours battery lie!!! Who the heck listens to music at level 1................

Hello

About that Battery life I listen between 15 - 20 [ volume level ] most of my mp3 files are 192 kbps and just a few 128 kbps and the battery last about 20 hours ( I left it working just for the sake of trying it )

so that's not much a lie and no atrack files here hehe

Just hoping the Update fix the LOADING TIME !!!!!!!!!
