transferring atrac files to a new computer

Hi!

I keep all my atrac files on an external 300 gig hard drive. I bought a new computer yesterday and downloaded a fresh copy of Sonic Stage 4.0 and plugged in my hard drive thinking I'd be ready to go. But when i try to play files from my library in Sonic Stage, i get a message saying that I need to connect to the internet to download a license to play the tracks. But when I click on that, all I get is an error message.

I was wondering if anyone knew what I need to do to get the files to play on my new PC?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Colin

The files are by default encrypted and can only be used on one PC (DRM).

You should have done a backup of your library from your original PC/SonicStage (It's in the Tools menu) or removed the DRM from the files (assuming you don't have purchased tracks from Connect) :

Thanks for that Roamer

I have all my 6000+ files backed up on 50+ minidiscs so I will just have to transfer them all again.I was just wondering if there was an easier, quicker way because it takes absolutely ages to do! I thought the new computer with USB 2.0 would speed things up a little, but it is still taking about 45 minutes to transfer a 1 GB disc.

I am using a NH- 900 - Would a RH-1 be any faster?

Cheers

Colin
