(Living in Singapore).BEFORE you buy them, be aware that these Maxell (?) discs have a PLASTIC SHUTTER and probably won't last in the long haul. I have two of them and they haven't given me trouble, but I just thought you should know. The Hello Kitty MD have metal shutters.Joe
jaylen
I'm not a big fan of the plastic shutter either. I've got some Maxell Burari and Couler and although they look pretty nice, they feel kind of cheapy. But, I haven't had any issues with them so far and Maxell does make some unique ones. This is a link to MDCF pictorials on "cutely designed MDs," or designer discs, all carefully and tastefully done by Ishiyoshi: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showforum=101If you like cute or colorful, try these:TDKHOBit ClubAxiaHello Kitty (expensive)VictorPocopHave you tried bluetin.com? I believe they're located in Singapore and they do have some "designer" MDs for sale. A recommended e-tailer on Head-Fi and here. Good luck. Richard
Indeed Bluetin has some designer Hello Kitty MD's for sale but no Miffy as far as I can see. Bland10000 has an article about the Miffy discs on his blog at:http://www.akiba-gadgets.com/?p=15 * Thread moved to "Find your Minidisc" section. eriktous
BEFORE you buy them, be aware that these Maxell (?) discs have a PLASTIC SHUTTER and probably won't last in the long haul. I have two of them and they haven't given me trouble, but I just thought you should know.Lol, has anyone actually ever had problems with plastic shutters?People advise to avoid them, because they appear cheap, or flimsy (which, granted, they do), but I don't know if anyone ever has had any problem with them.In fact, I have a couple of disks with metal shutters which have been bent out of shape or have dents in them.I think metal this thin is actually easier to deform than plastic. jaylen
As I said in my previous post, I generally don't like the plastic shutters only because they feel cheap. But, I haven't had problems with any of my Maxells and I think the plastic shutters look cool on some discs like the Maxell Burari. I've had the most recording/reading problems with Memorex and they have metal shutters. lol Go figure.
unignal
hm... one of my md with metal shutter went out of shape without me doing muchto it. (one disc unusable just like that).Maybe if they make a plastic-metal hybrid life will be much better.
