garcou
Richyhu, you own an onkyo Himd bookshelf, if I don't misundersand? Can you confirm the tuner is worlwide (76-108 mhz) and which model have you got? 3 new Onkyo Himd bookshelves appeared last month: X-N7UWX; X-N7X; X-N9X . Unfaithfully, Onkyo page says they are all only with japan tuner (76-90Mhz)...The Onkyo page say the X-N7 N9 B7 B8 have sleep timer. Is you unit equiped with rec timer. And with equalizer?Last question : do you know if Sony Cmt-AH10 is equipied with japan or worldwide tuner? Richard
I have the X-B8 which is indeed world tuner as are all the first gen Hi-MD bookshelves from Onkyo (X-B7, X-B8, X-N7, X-N9).Unfortunately the new ones from this year are only Japan tuners for the FM. The CMT-AH10 does not have world band FM either. It also has very poor connections only one RCA-in and no line out I think.Mine also has a recording timer with up to 3 or 4 (I can't remember) programmable schedules that can be set to record or play from any source on a one-off or recurring schedule. The schedules can also kind of overlap each other I think. I can't remember how the precedence works in case of conflict... But it is quite flexible. It also has the sleep timer on top of that. The EQ is bass and treble adjustment ( -10 to +10) and 2-step S-Bass boost.
garcou
Rec timer! very cool!I think to by the X-N7 which is cheaper. Hope it has the rec timer too (the Onkyo page says sleep timer as for the X-B8...)
Richard
Rec timer! very cool!I think to by the X-N7 which is cheaper. Hope it has the rec timer too (the Onkyo page says sleep timer as for the X-B8...)I think it should do - the main differences I think on X-B7 are it has less connections on the back. (No optical in if I recall correct). I will check the manual for you to see what else is different.Edit: - the manual for the X-B7/8 is the same. Main differences I can see are:X-B7 different speaker colour (only normal wood)X-B7 - no optical in /out (from cd)no sample rate convertor for recording to MD from 48khz / 32khz to 44.1khz (I guess because of the lack of optical in)I can't really see anything else, the manual doesn't mention anything different about the timer on the X-B7 so I assume it is the same as the X-B8. garcou
Thank you for your help, richyhu.I just found only 4000 JPY (30 euros) overprice B8 vs B7.I think I will go for B8 (now I have to choose speakers black or white!)
