Greenspider
Sadly, I am new to the MD arena. I have read lots of posts, did some(not alot of research) and purchased a few MD players. I got some blank discs, some pre-recorded discs and for the most part enjoy MD! Here is my dilema. I record something on my Sony MDS-JE510 from a CD and it works fine. Plays back prefectly and I named it. However, when I try and use it in my vehicle (using Alpine MDA-5048) I can't get anything but errors. I know the Unit is working, because it plays Pre-recorded MD's great! Am I doing something wrong? Does it require me to do anything after I record the CD to be played in the vehicle? Truely frustrated! Any help would be greatly appreciated. One last question, where might I "buy" pre-recorded MD's other than rip-off central(Ebay)? Thanks in advance,Jim
greenmachine
Are you trying to play either LP2/4 or HiMD formatted tracks in a SP only compatible machine? SP should always be recorded in realtime for best quality.
raintheory
I was thinking that too greenmachine, but I don't think the JE510 is MDLP, so if they were recorded with the JE510 they should work... I would think?
Greenspider
Sadly I'm too new to understand some of your referrences. But from what I gather, my JE510 is only regular MD recorder/player and there is only one speed that I know of. No matter what I record on the blank disc's my Alpine will not read them. Maybe its the blanks that I am using, they are 80 min Sony discs. /shrug, I really wish they worked properly. Thanks for all the input. The Low Volta
really old MD-players perhaps only understand 60 or 74 minute discs... get one of those and try if you can
